Julie's CTY Webpage

As I said before, I go to a summer camp called CTY. It is a summer camp where you take a class but it is so much more than that. To me, and I think many others who go there, it is a home. I will go back every year until I am a "nomore" which will be very sad. But anyway, these are the classes I have taken so far. The first two years are from "baby" CTY.

1995: Towson, Inductive Reasoning, RA Kelly, Session 1.
1996: Chestertown, Deductive Reasoning, RA Pam, Session 1.
Chestertown, Bay Ecology, RA Abby, Session 2.
1997: Carlisle, Math Reasoning, RA Ali, Session 1.
Carlisle, Intro to Lab Sciences, RA Sally, Session 2.
1998: Carlisle, Math Modeling, RA Lisa, Session 1.
Carlisle, Biology, RA Lesa, Session 2.

If you were in any of these classes/halls with me or will be in any classes and I have not met or talked to you in awhile, write me.

One tradition at CTY is passion fruit (well, at least I know it is at Carlisle.) Every Sunday morning (very early) a bunch of people wake up to go and sit in a circle in the quad lawn. There they each take turns thanking people and just giving their "passion fruit". At the end the person says "I love the passion fruit" and takes a sip of juice. The rest of the circle repeats this then and all takes a sip of their juice. There is also and emperor and emperess of Passion Fruit that kinda run it and try to get more people to come. Also if this is your first time at Passion Fruit, you are a virgin. If you are a virgin, you have to be devirginized, and that can include many different things like having everyone yell virgin at you as you stand up to give your toast, being sprayed with a water gun, or having peanut butter (or something like that) spread on your face. If you think this is weird, you have obviously never seen some of the other CTY customs. (Oh yeah, if I got any of the details wrong, please e-mail me, in my first (or second) year at Carlisle I couldn't pull myself out of bed to go, but I plan on going every week this year (probably not but I will say that anyways.) Anyway here is my passion fruit section. I would be glad to add your passion fruit, just e-mail it to me with the title "Passion Fruit". Thanks!

At every CTY dance, there are certain songs that HAVE to be played or the CTYers will complain. This is my CTY music page for these songs and some songs that kinda became my hall songs. e-mail me if I forgot any songs and I will add them.

Two people I knew from CTY, Molly Renolds and Allie Pullins, made a list of ways to tell if you are in CTY withdrawl. This is Carlisle biased though because they both went to Carlisle. To see this click here.
