On that same Smokies trip, we hiked ALL OVER THE PLACE, to study
different kinds of trees and forests. We compared old growth,
seen here, with secondary growth. We also saw the devestation caused
to the evergreens by a parasite that is slowly ruining the spruce-fir forests.
