Nothern California Kannada Koota Youth Group

    ABHIMANYU is Kannada Koota Youth Group of Nothern California, USA.
    "Abhimanyu" was formed in february 1997. It is aimed at encouraging
    Kannada Koota Youth to participate and learn more about our ROOTS
    and culture, with a special focus on Kanada and Karnataka.

    A number of activities have been planned for the group for the
    year 1998-1999, viz., Hiking & Picnic, Weekend Camp, Sports day,
    Ganesh Puja, Quiz competition, regular meetings, etc. We encourage
    all Kannada Koota youth to participation from the youth, and

    Previous year (1997), being the very first year of this group, not many
    activities were performed. Three persons from the youth group were the "Master of
    Ceremonies" for the Deepavali program. This was very well received and appreciated
    by the audience and the kannada koota committee.

        Responsible for coordinating with all members of "Abhimanyu" and setting up the agenda and activities of every meeting.

        Responsible for maintaining data base with membership information. Also, take help from other enrolled members to update and expand this list.
    • Minutes of the Meetings - Gurucharan Prabhakar
        Responsible for noting the minutes of the meetings and conveying this information to Kannada Koota Flyer. Also update Kannada Koota commitee members about youth activities.
    • "Abhimanyu" Web Page Updates - Vivek Guruswamy
        Responsible for maintaining and updating "Abhimanyu" Web Page.

    Youth Group Activities

    Members of the Nothern California Kannada Koota and all committee
    members are extending their fullest support to encourage participation
    of the Youth.

    • Kannada Koota Sports Day - To help Organize Kannada Koota Sports Day event
    • Ganesh Pooja - To Organize Kannada Koota Ganesha Pooja program
    • Invite Speakers to address the youth in their regular meetings - Speakers will discuss topics that is of interest to the Youth.
    • Organize hiking trips, Community Involvment activites(March Of Dimes)
    • Organize competetions and exhibitions for the Kannada koota youth of all age groups

    Current Enrollment & Membership


    Currently, there are about 25 Kannada Koota Youth out of which 14 are
    actively participating. One of the main objectives of this group is to increase
    this enrollment to number.
    Kannada Koota Youth from Nothern California and other parts of USA are invited
    to become members , plan and participate in the Youth Activites.
