SNOW CREATIONS

MATERIAL:
16 -  Plastic Soda 6-pack holders
mini stapler
spray paint (white)
glitter (optional)

Recycle plastic 6 pack holders into beautiful, hanging decorations that can be
enjoyed throughout the winter season.  Begin collecting plastic holders 2-3
weeks prior to the project day: it takes a matching set of 16 to make one
decoration.  For best results, divide students into pairs and have each pair
work together to complete the project.  NOTE: a mini stapler works best.

DIRECTIONS:

         (I)
    (A)OO(B)
    (E)OO(F)
    (C)OO(D)
       (G)(H)

The O's are the rings.  The letters are centered with each corresponding area.

1. Fold a plastic 6 pk. holder in half lengthwise.  Staple point A to point B.
Staple point C to point D.

2. Repeat step 1 with the other 15 holders.

3.  Staple point F of a holder to point E of a second one.  Also staple point
H of the first holder to point G of the second one.  Staple a third holder to
the second in the same manner.  Continue stapling until you make a chain of 8
holders.

4. In the same manner, staple the first and last holders of the chain together
to form a circle.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to make a second circle with the 8 remaining holders.

6. Place the flat, rounded sides of the circles back to back, aligning them at
the 8 points.  Staple together at point I (around the outside of the circles).

7. Attach a length of ribbon or yarn at point I.

8. Spray with artificial snow NOTE: ( they did this at the conservation center
and it flakes off, they said next time they would try spray paint and
glitter.) and hang for all to enjoy.  For valentines day, add pink and red
hearts.  In the spring, add yellow centers to make the decorations look like
flowers.
