What Are They?
Friendship bracelets are knotted or braided cotton bands
which are
given as a token of friendship - though you can make
them for
yourself too! You can wear them tied around your
wrist or ankle.
Where Are They From?
Knotted, patterned friendship bracelets originally came
from Central
and South America.
What Do They Mean?
As well as being a sign of friendship, they are meant
to bring good
luck to the wearer. Make a wish when you are given
one. It is
supposed to come true when the bracelet finally wears
out and falls
off, but only if the bracelet has never been removed.
