celticImagine yourself hiking on a country road in Ireland, rubbing elbows with the Irish people, visiting Castles, perhaps even catching a glimpse of one of the "wee ones!" You'll do all this...and more, on your S.S. Cygnus Irish vacation.

Day One - Plan to arrive at Port Mouse early enough to check your bags, get your necessary paperwork, find your cabin, then just sit back and relax until it's time to leave.

As soon as the ship leaves, please meet behind the Bridge for your Lifeboat/Life Jacket drill. Life Jackets are located in the closet of all staterooms, as well as in the storage boxes behind the Bridge. But don't worry, we've never pulled them out yet, except to give demos during the safety drill!

Day Two - This is a day for ship exploration. Take a dip in our pool, work out in the fitness center, soak in the whirlpool, and eat our fantastic food. Get to know your fellow passengers, take a tour of the Bridge, watch the Irish Line Dancers in the Star Theater, or just watch the waves from a lounge chair and enjoy the sun!

IrishcelticDay Three and Four - We've docked in Dublin. There's lots to see and do in this wonderful capital of Ireland, shopping in hundreds of boutiques, historical places to visit and don't miss Trinity College and the Book of Kells. Or just sit and enjoy one of their lovely parks. There will be a bar-b-que at suppertime, don't miss that, cheese'mores and everything! When you're tired, come on back aboard and rest. Even tho we are docked, meals and snacks will still be served aboard the ship.

rocks Day Five - Scenic Cruising South of Ireland. Grab a spot at the rails, or relax in a deck chair. Look at dazzling scenery. Gaze into the waters. See breathtaking views of rugged coastlines and coves. Watch the sun set over the ocean. Ireland's beauty is legendary. Perhaps most stunning of all are the Dingle and Iveragh Peninsulas on her Southwest Coast – the Kingdom of Kerry and heart of the Kerry Gaeltacht, a region where Irish music, language and tradition continue as a way of life. It's all waiting for you to come and explore!

Day Six - Limerick: take a stroll into Ireland's third largest town. Limerick, famous for its lace, has a wide assortment of shopping and entertainment. Places of interest--King John's Castle, St. John's Cathedral and the Treaty Stone of 1691. Again, meals will be served aboard ship if you'd rather not look for a restaurant.

Day Seven - Galway: the principal city of the west of Ireland. The Aran Islands stretch across Galway Bay. Rent a sea kayak and go sailing on your own (weather permitting). Or visit John F. Kennedy Memorial Park, Church of St. Nicholas, Lynch's Castle, Spanish Arch and University College. Sinead's family has just purchased a castle in this area. They are planning to open a Bed and Breakfast late spring.

Day Eight - Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, is located on the River Lagan. Belfast is well known as an industrial center, particularly in the areas of shipbuilding and linen. The Municipal Museum and Gallery are located in the Botanic Gardens. This is where our first week ends, and we backtrack to end up back in Dublin next week.
