1. The dog wasn't anywhere to be found! I searched and searched everywhere, but the dog was missing! I didn't know what to do! I couldn't just forget about the dog, even though I wished I could, but my friend would kill me! |
2. My little brother tugged on my new soccer shorts, trying to get my attention. I ignored him. He had been a pest all day, and I wasn't going to let him get to me before my first soccer game. He tugged harder, and harder, and then I heared a rip. I looked down to see the hugest rip on my shorts, and my little brother gone! |
3. James could feel the goosebumps prickling his arms. Ms. Mean was handing back the tests. "Miranda, as usual, an A... Thomas, my, you did good... Alex, well, you could use a little help, but you're getting there... James, please see me after class." Ms. Mean handed James his test. An F! 'My dad is gonna kill me!' James thought to himself. |
4. Sierra ran down the street. She looked back, only to find Joseph still jogging along behind her a ways. She ran harder, trying to escape him. But he still jogged along with his slow, steady jogging. 'There HAS to be some way to get away from him!' Sierra murmered to herself. 'I can't be caught with HIM!' |
5. I studied the board for a move. Then I saw it, the perfect move. I moved my rook to the corner. "Checkmate," I said to Brian. He groaned. "That's the fifth time in a row you've beaten me!" he cried. "I quit!" Brian stomped out of my room, and I sighed. That was the sixth time someone I was playing quit. Now who could I play with? |
6. Melissa had been waiting and waiting for it to arrive. Hours, days, weeks, months, maybe even years. Every day she ran out to greet the mailman, only to find an ocasional letter from her grandma, or a letter from the library telling her that she had overdue books. But Melissa didn't give up. One day she ran outside to greet the mailman, and was given a small, brown box. She began to rip it open, and out of it fell... |
7. The ship came to land at exactly 3:06 in the morning. At that time of the day most people would be asleep, but not Puablo and his brothers. They stayed up all night waiting for the ship to get to land. Eva, Sophia and Mama were still asleep, but Puablo ran to wake Mama and the girls up. They had arrived! |
8. Tuesday, Oct. 8th Dear Journal, Tomorrow is my first day of school in my new town. I'm scared! My new apartment isn't that bad, just a little cramped. My new Kids Club sounds fun, even though I haven't gone yet, but the thought of going to a whole new school freaks me out! I'm so scared! |
9. "Honey," Mom said softly, as she tucked Matthew into bed. "You are going to be a big brother!" Matthew nodded, not paying much attention. He was so tired. The thought of having a little brother or sister didn't really sink into his mind. It just sort of went in one ear and floated out the other. If he had been paying attention, he wouldn't have been happy, but at that moment all he wanted to do was just lay there and dream. |
10. Roxanne wasn't the normal type of girl you expected to see at Honeyville Elemantary. Most of the kids were rich and preppy, but not Roxanne. She was sort of, well what you would call hollow. Well, at least, that was what people thought. Even the teachers. No one really tried to get to know her. Roxanne was the kind of person who blended into the wall. No one knew where she had come from, but no one really cared. |
