HEY - CHECK OUT THE NEW PAGE!! "New Stuff" - the link is below!
The most important piece of tack belongs to the rider. This is the helmet. No rider should EVER ride without one!!! This can't be stressed enough, as it is possible to die if you fall and you're not wearing a helmet. NEVER FORGET THIS!!!
A horse's most important piece of tack can be debated forever. Most people will say the bridle, but this is not necessarily true! Horses can be ridden without bridles, and headcollars, and many other things. Some people can ride without a bridle OR saddle! What do YOU think is the most important piece of tack for a horse? Send me your answer, and it will be put here! Remember to include a name/nickname for me to put it under!!!
Polo> I think the horses most important piece of tack is.... the halter. Too bring a horse in from the field you need a halter, to tack a horse up you need a halter.....and so on and so on!
Danny> Polo- This is not necissarily true, my horse follows me out of the paddock without the need of a halter. He will also stand quiet while I tack him up without a halter as well if neccesary.
I think the most important piece of tack varies from one horse to the next.
Baskies mom Liz> THERE ISN'T ONE! I CAN RIDE BOTH OF MY HORSES WITHOUT ANYTHING ON THEM AT ALL. BUT IF I HAD TO PICK ONE I WOULD SAY THE HALTER. HOPE THIS HELPS.
Palomino>I don't think there is a most important piece of tack for horses you can ride a horse with no tack on.The most important piece of tack is a riding hat for the rider.
CRO> I think the most important piece of tack is the lead rope. Most horses require at least that much.
This month's tack feature is BRIDLES!!! Next month (February), we will have a feature on types of rugs. In the future we'll look at ropes, and many other pieces of tack and riding equipment! Stay tuned!!!!
