Please tell me if you think this page is a good idea, I think it is! I'm always on the lookout for great, cheap and easy horse treats for my equine pals!
Horse Salad
YOU NEED:
1 Large Carrot
2 Apples (Your horse's favorite!)
1 Ration Grain (However much you feed your horse)
Grate carrot into bowl, slice applesinto bowl, mix, then mix in grain slowly! Serve and enjoy!

YOU NEED:
7 baby carrots
1 apple
1 handfuls of cherrios
1/2 a handful of grain(any kind your horse likes)
one medium sized bowl
take the 7 baby carrots and grate them into the bowl. Take the apple and cut it in half. with one side of the apple slice them and with the other side grate it.take the 1 handful of cherrios{1 handful is when you use both hands} and add them to
the grated carrots and apple. then take your horses favorite type of grain and add that in with the other ingredients. mix them all together then give it to your good little or big horse.

Yum Horse Mash
YOU NEED:
Grated Carrot
Grated Apple
Oats or other horse feed
Bread Crumbs
Hot Molasses
Pour hot molasses into a small tin. Add in
oats or other nice horse feed. Mix grated apple
and carrot together, then add them to the mix.
Sprinkle bread crumbs on top.

DELUX BEDROLL
YOU NEED:
Breadroll or 2 slices of bread
molasses
1 carrot
1 grated apple.
'Line' bread roll with grated apple. Dip your carrot into your molasses. Place carrot on breadroll, and feed! If desired, heat in microwave for no more than 20 sec. and feed to your horse! He/She 'll love you!!!**

APPLE SURPRISE
YOU NEED:
1 large apple
1 carrot
A handful of coarse mix
1 table spoon of black treacle or molasses mixed with a little bit of hot water
Fresh grass or parsley to garnish
Carefully scoop out the middle of the apple and stir the molasses or treacle into the course mix. Spoon the mixture into the apple.Put the carrot in the middle.Garnish with grass or parsley.

HAPPY HORSE BRAN MASH
YOU NEED:
1 coffee can of Bran
2 cups of grain (sweet feed is best)
1/4 of a cup of sugar
2 apples diced
1 carrot shreaded
HOT water
Kayro syrup ( mayple okay also)
Mix the Bran and Hot water in a feed bucket untill bran is well wet and there is not too much excess water in the bucket. Then add the sugar and stir it into mash. Then add all of the other ingredients and mix together and serve Hot. NOTE: You might want to follow the instructions fast so that
it doesn't cool down while your mixing it.

BRAND MASH
YOU NEED:
4 cups of brand
1/2 cup of molasses
5-10 mimi Carrots
3 cups of hot water
Stir so it looks a little like soup. Give to horse when hot.

APPLE SANDWITCH
YOU NEED:
1 apple
2 carrots (baby)
1/4 Cup Cherrios or Oats
Cut a large hole in the apple, large enough to fit in carrots and oats. Stick in the carrots so they are at the end of the hole. Push in oats around carrots so firm. Then, feed to your hungry horse!!

WINTER WARMER
YOU NEED:
1 Scoop of barley or rolled oats.
1 Sliced carrot
1 Diced apples
mollasas
water
Cook the barley/oats in water. Then soak, prepared apples and carrots in molassas and water (for flavor). Wait for the oats to cool just enough for your horse to be able to eat it. Add apples and carrots, mix well. Drip mollassas over top (it looks nicer)!

HEALTHY TREAT!
YOU NEED:-
Metamucil ( original )
Molasses
LOTS of water
Get a large bowl. Put one cup of Metamucil in bowl. Add some molasses. Put a lot of water ( enough to make it liquidy so your horse can drink it ). Serve it to your horse quickly! This treat also is a healthy thing because it can prevent sand colic ( something your horse does NOT want! ).You can give it to your horse every week if you want to. ENJOY!

HORSE COOKIES
YOU NEED:
1 cup margarine
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup brown suqar
1 cup bran
1 cup diced carrots
1 cup diced apples
1 tsp. baking soda
2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
2 eggs
Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Combine flour, bran and baking soda, and blend into creamed mixture. Stir in oats, carrots, and apples. Drop spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets and bake in a moderate oven (350 F= 190 C) for 10-12 minutes, until lightly browned. Remove and cool. Makes about 4 dozen.
THIS IS A TREAT THAT ALMOST ANY HORSE WILL LIKE.
CARROT MASH
YOU NEED:
About 5 carrots
Molasses
Horse oats (rolled or crimped)
Shred carrots in a chees grater. Add a few spoonfuls of molasses. Stir in a cup or so of oats. Chill for at least half an hour. This serves three horses.
APPLE TREATS
YOU NEED:
2 apples
1/4 cup molasses
1 cup of uncooked oats
1) Cut apples into quarters, removing core and seeds.
2) Place in bowl and drizzle molasses over apples, using a rubber spatula to get all the molasses out of the measuring cup. Stir the apple pieced to coat evenly.
3) Put the oats and salt into a large baggie and shake well.
4) Put the molasses-covered apple pieces into the baggie and shake well, until evenly coated with oats
5) Leave in baggie, tie with twist tie and refrigerate until use.
YOUR HORSE WILL LOVE THEM!
OATMEAL DELUXE
YOU NEED:
1 packet of Quaker oatmeal (dry)
1 handful of sweet feed
2 spoonfuls of applesauce
1 spoonful honey or molasses
1 handful Cheerios
4 sugar cubes
a pinch of brown sugar
1/2 cup water
You can make this right in the feed bucket. Mix the oatmeal with the water. Add sweet feed and applesauce. Mix together. Add the Cheerios, brown sugar and honey or molasses. Mix again, than place sugar cubes on top. Vola! This serves one horse.
MISTY'S OAT CAKE
Grease and flour 2 9" layer pans
SIFT TOGETHER:
2 1/4 cups flour
1 1/4 cups sugar
3 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
MIX IN:
1 cup uncooked oats
ADD:
1/2 cup shortening
BEAT IN:
2 egg yolks
1 cup mild
FOLD IN:
2 beaten egg whites
Bake at 350 F for 35-40 minutes. Test with a toothpick for doneness. When cake is cool, spread top with molasses and finely chopped walnuts and/or carrots.
MOLASSES MASH
YOU NEED:
1 cup of oats
3 cups of bran
5 cups of warm water
1 cup of sweet feed
1 cup of pony pellets
2 cups of molasses
1 chopped apple
1 or 2 chopped or grated carrots
Pour ingredients into a large bowl or bucket. Mix well. Sprinkle oats over mash and serve to your pony. Serve immediately.
OATMEAL CRISPS
YOU NEED:
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup molasses
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups all puropose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 cups horse oats or rolled oats
4 finely chopped apples
2 large chopped carrots
Mix all ingredients and bake at 350 F (180 C) for 8-10 minutes.
APPLE CHUNKS
YOU NEED:
5-6 apples
1-1 1/2 cups molasses
1 cup sweet feed
1 cup rolled oats
2 grated carrots
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
Chop apples up finely. Pour molasses sweetfeed, oats, carrots, salt and sugar in a bag. Put in apples and shake. Chill in fridge for at least 1/2 an hour or until ready to serve.
CALLY'S FAVORITE MASH
YOU NEED:
2 bags of APPLE TREATS
2 apples
3 carrots
2 cups of molasses
2 cups of rolled oats
In a plastic container, put in Apple treats, rolled oats. Cut up carrrots into small peices, and cut up the apples into 1/4s. Pour molasses on top. Serve woarm or cold. Feeds approx. 4 horses for treats. (Named after my horse Cally, he loves this mash I make for him!)
ROLLED CARROTS
YOU NEED:
rolled oats
molasses
carrots
Spread oats on wax paper. Put molasses in large tray. Roll carrots in molasses, and roll in oats right after. Store in plastic container until used. (DON'T FORGET TO LET THE HORSE LICK THE MOLASSES OFF THE CONTAINER AFTER!)
NICKIE AND ROSI'S FAVORITE TREAT
YOU NEED:
4 apples
8-9 carrots
*You can add some molasses*
A little bit of sugar
*I put in some hay and grass. Tiny little bit of hay.*
Cut the apples and carrots into chunks. Then cut the hay in to small bits and put the grass in, then mix. ( you don't need a lot of grass) Put it in a bag and close it up. Let it sit for 15 minutes. The apples should be a little brown. Than shake the bag. After that add the little bit of sugar. (if your using molasses add that too.) Than feed it to the horse. IT FEEDS 2 horses or ponies.
