Three US astronauts launched from Kennedy Space Center in an Apollo spacecraft that brought them bad and good luck. This mission would test the NASA team and the world. Apollo 13's mission was to go to the moon and land but all that was changed when an oxygen tank overheated and exploded while on their way to the moon. The astronauts used the Aquarius, which was the module that would land on the moon, to survive 5 days to get back home. The Osyssey was shut down to conserve power. During that time the crew ran into problems with air, temperature, and manually making corrections to the spacecraft. For the world who didn't show much interest in the flight of Apollo 13, the world did tune in to the disaster unfolding on TV, many prayed for their safe return. The astronauts landed safely on 17 April 1970 in the Pacific Ocean.
