Car-Care Rag Bag
From: "Gifts To Make For Your Favorite Grownup" by Kathy
Ross
If dad is always washing the car, this is the gift to give.
This bag hangs in the garage or cellar, full of rags to use for washing
and waxing the car.
Material:
Yarn or string
scissors
Two identical loose-weave dish rags
1.
Cut a piece of yarn that will be long enough to sew around three sides
of the dish rags. Hold the two cloths exactly together. Tie
one end of the yarn through the two cloths at one of the corners.
Lace the yarn in and out around three side of both cloths to sew them together.
Tie off the yarn and trim off any extra yarn. To make the lacing
easier, tape the end of the yarn to make it stiff. You could also
dip the end of the yarn in glue and let it dry to stiffen it.
2.
Cut a long piece of yarn. Tie one end to each side of the open end of the
bag to make a hanger. Collect some soft old undershirts and cut them
into squares to use as a filler to show what this bag is for.
