Basic Printing

Basic printing is really just an extension of finger painting so it's really easy. It can be messy though so make sure you've got an old shirt on!
You will need: some pieces of heavy cardboard Photocopy/printer paper Acrylic Paint An old shirt
Some rags
Here's what to do:
1. Spread some paint (one colour at first) onto your piece of card and draw a picture in the paint with your finger then carefully lay a piece of paper on the paint and lightly press it down, carefully lift off and see your FIRST print! How does it look?

2. Look how the picture came out, it's backwards! next try some writing, your name would be fun, see how it comes out. It's backwards to! Can you make a print were the letters come out the 'right way around'?

3. Try some more prints without putting any more paint on the cardboard, what do you notice? does the colour change? I wonder why it does that?

4. Experiment with prints using different colours on the same print & see what happens.

5. If you have some coloured paper try printing onto it and see what happens.

My first basic print :)
