Here is a quick guide to save graphics you'd like to use or modify on your computer. Just follow these simple directions.
Its very easy once you get the hang of it! If you wish to use any of these graphics on your pages, PLEASE provide a link back to my site. DO NOT LINK TO THE IMAGE HERE!! Just save kidkat.gif to your computer & upload it to your file manager where your website is located. Then copy and paste the HTML hyperlink onto your page. . Thank you!!
To Save Images:
Just right-click on the image to save it to your file manager on your PC. Click on "Save Picture As" and a box will pop up that shows the filename and the type.
Naming your file:
The filename that is highlighted is the name of the image that you should save unless you prefer to change the name to something you'd remember better. (It all depends how you want to organize them).
Save As Type:
This is the type of image displayed. Examples of image type files include:
.gif (most common)
.jpg (more complex image)
.bmp (basic paint applications)Note: When creating your own image, make sure you save your application as the correct type if you wish to submit it to another site on the web. Also, be careful when changing a jpg filename because if you change the name, it may not appear the same as it did before. It is usually okay to change a jpg to a gif file though. Although the colors may become more dull if you do so.
Its helpful to first make a copy of any image file you create before you save it.
Also, if possible, view your images in both browsers to make sure they look okay to most surfers on the net.
Now if you're like me & you like to experiment with images..get going & save these for your web pages!! Happy image finding!!
