All right - let's get right down to business. You want to meet the maker, and as the creator, my job is to introduce myself.
Anyways, my name is Melissa Dawn Howard. I have blonde hair, blue eyes, and am about 5'5 1/2. The picture on the main page is me, however that was taken at Glamour Shots in like 1996, and I don't really look like that on a daily basis. At that time, hours and hours had been spent on my hair and make-up to make me look really good. So, please don't email me to tell me that I'm hot and you want to "get to know me better." It's old, and I have no time to deal with stuff like that. :-)
So now that that is out of the way, I'm 19 years old, and am in my second year in the faculty of social science at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. I'm currently in the Honours Psychology program, which is definitely cool.
A *huge* interest of mine is cheerleading. I did two years before coming to University (Parkside Collegiate Institute, St. Thomas, Ontario), but that was it for high school. In my third year of high school, the coaches left and we no longer had a team, and in my fourth year, I went to Saunders Secondary School in London, Ontario, and apparently wasn't good enough for their team. So anyways, I'm now on the McMaster University Cheerleading team, and I'm having a blast. Our first competition was on November 26th, at York University, and we ended up placing 3rd in Canada! Other than competitions, we also cheer for the men's football and basketball teams here at MAC. This year we beat Western (from London) 34-27, and it was very exciting because that was the first time that McMaster has beaten Western since 1984 - 15 YEARS!
We just recently had our 2000 University National Cheerleading Championships at McMaster on Friday, December 1st. After a ton of hard work, and perseverance, we ended up coming in 5th out of 16 teams (last year we were 3rd out of 11).. I'm kinda disappointed about that, but still, 5th in Canada isn't that bad! If you'd like to see the scores, and what everyone else got, check out the PCA (Power Cheerleading Athletics) webpage at www.powercheerleading.com.
So between my courses, cheerleading, volunteering at Student Health Service, working at Williams, and maintaining some kind of social life, I keep pretty busy!
P.S. On your way out, don't forget to sign my guestbook!!
Talk to you real soon!!
