Hi, my name is Denise (aka Smiley!), I have been involved in Girl Scouting for almost all of my life. My mom was my leader for a lot of years and was very active in other areas of the organization as well. When my oldest daughter was born, I knew I wanted her to be a Girl Scout, I had so much fun when I was a Girl Scout. I began my career, and that's what it is in so many ways, as an adult Girl Scout with a Daisy troop in the Philippines. I loved it, loved the girls and the activities and I've never left this organization. Since then, I've led troops of all age levels. I currently have a Brownie troop and a Cadette troop. I have worked as a volunteer and paid staff member at day camps across the world, and I am a trainer of adult volunteers. Hmmmm, think I will stop there, so many more jobs I've held, but I'm getting bored so you must be too!

I love the program that Girl Scouting offers the girls of the world. A program that lets girls explore the world around them, the people around them and themselves. A program that helps girls with pluralism and diversity. A program that helps girls soar to heights once thought impossible to reach. Girl Scouting can do that and more!

Some of the best experiences we've had have been with the Muchachas Guias in Panama. We spent a few weekends exploring our different cultures and discovering oursimilarities. This is a photo of Jennifer at the Tropas de Amistad campout in Boquete. Last year we went to the Muchachas Guias camp in Penoneme, it was a wonderful experience! Now you can even see my favorite trainer and the best hiking buddy I've ever had, Tim aka Fuzzy Bear/Coqui! Fuzzy Bear and I had lots of fun hiking the jungles of Panama. Take a look at a group of us who explored the Las Cruces trail! This adorable girl is Kali and the beautiful animal with her is her horse Rojo. Kali and Tim live in Puerto Rico now and are involved in Junior Girl Scouts there.

Please feel free to e-mail me if you want to talk about Girl Scouts or swap!
