My name is Heather and I have a disability called spina bifida and scoliosis. I am not in a wheelchair. I have a brace though. I have had this disability since I was born and I am 12 now. I can do most things any other person can do but people say, ooh let me carry that it is too heavy for you or you had better not do that it is too dangerous, but I CAN do anything that I want to but they never give me a chance. So I always think, wouldn't it be great if people would give me a chance to do things on my own? People never let me try. They just say ooh that is too hard before they ever let me try. They always make me feel like I am helpless. That is what I think would be great.
