This year Brownie Troop 1459 did many different things, and attended quite a few trips. No matter what we did, we most of all tried to have fun!
9/7/99 Registration Meeting
Our parents registered us for our second year of Brownies. We filled out questionnairs, and we now have our own webpages!
9/21/99 First Meeting
We made a Kaper Chart, name tags and went over rules for the coming year.
10/10/99 Fall Harvest Festival
We attended this festival at Camp Metamora where we baked apples, made crafts, painted pumpkins, and had a great time.
10/12/99 Outdoor Fun
We worked on and completed this try-it..
10/26/99 Halloween Party
We ate rice krispie treats, carmel apples, listened to spooky stories and made bats.
11/6/99 Rake and Run
Our first community service project of the year. We raked yards for elderly people in our community, along with other troops in our NSU.
11/9/99 Music
We worked on and completed this try-it.
11/19/99-11/20/99 Brownie Slumber Party
The girls did many exciting activities like fabric painted bags, beadie buddie keychains, and paper dolls. We ate pizza and snack, and everyone had a wonderful time!
12/4/99 Nutcracker Ballet - Dancercize
We worked on this try-it by attending the ballet. Girls received a behind the scence tour when the ballet was over, and got to meet the performers.
12/7/99 Investiture/Rededication and Court of Awards
The new girls invested while the older ones rededicated themselves to Girl Scouts. We also handed out our try-its and patches earned up to this point.
12/14/99 Christmas Service Project
We collected food and wrapped presents to be handed out to the Hazel Park Food Basket, VA Hospital and Salvation Army as well as our adopted family. Girls also received info for cookie sales.
1/11/00 Dancercize
We worked on and completed this try-it. We talked with the girls about the older ones moving to Juniors
1/25/00 My Body
The second graders worked on and completed this try-it. The third graders learned about Juniors and made paper dolls.
2/8/00 Valentine's Day
The girls melted crayons between wax paper and cut out hearts to make projects for the holiday.
2/12/00 Henry Ford Museum - Patch Walk
We went on a patch walk where girls learned about women of today and yesterday and the exciting things made possible by them!
2/22/00 Play
The girls worked on and completed this try-it.
3/7/00 Around The World - Jeweler
The second graders worked on this try-it, while the third graders worked on this recognition.
3/21/00 Meeting
We finished all finished up our projects.
4/1/00 Mother Daughter Tea Party
Our Brownie troop along with the Daisy troop, hosted a mother daughter tea party. We had lunch and desert, along with tea. What a great time to socialize with our girls and parents!
4/4/00 Meeting
We made friendship bracelets and watched a movie while our parents attended a camp meeting.
4/15/00-4/16/00 Camp Narrin
Worked worked together and had a great time at camp. We completed two try-its and took walks and had great fun.
4/18/00 Meeting
We made keychains while the juniors finished up their work before bridging.
5/9/00 Meeting
We made invitations and butterfly projects for our bridging ceremony when the Juniors "fly up".
5/23/00 Bridging Ceremony
In a combined ceremony with the Daisy troop and a Junior troop, our girls bridged to Juniors. Refreshments were served.
5/29/00 Royal Oak Memorial Day Parade
We all arrived and headed downtown to march in the parade. It was a nice day this year, so we had a better turn out.
6/3/00 Pontiac Lake Trails Riding Stables
We saved our cookie money for this day. Girls received a 15 minute riding lesson to go over the basics and then we headed out on a 2 mile ride on a wood trail. Girls learned the basics about horses too, and we made crafts and ate lunch.
6/6/00 VFW Park - End of the Year Picnic
We drove up to the park for our end of the year picnic bbq. We held a small court of awards where the girls received the rest of their try-its and patches. What a great year!
