Venus had seen the Princess walking with the Earth Prince,
and she was worried. Serenity was
on her own with a man for the first time in her life.
While Venus looked left and right to see the Princess, 
Kunzite chuckled slightly.
Venus looked at him questioningly. "What's so funny?" She asked.
"You. Worrying about the Princess like that. She's a big girl." He said.
She sighed. "We have to protect her." She said.
"I'm sure our prince would protect her." Kunzite said. Venus
shook her head. "It's not that. She's... a sensitive girl." she said.
"So I was told. What's all this about the Princess being
ignored by her mother?" He asked. Venus sighed again.
"I wish it wasn't true." She said. Kunzite looked at her.
"You mean...." he trailed off. "Her mother only cares about
her brother at the moment. She's been preparing him with the
crystal from day one. She's forgotten the fact that she even has 
a daughter." Venus said. 
"She pays no attention to her?" He asked. Venus shook her
head sadly. "Serenity pretends that she's doesn't care that
her mother ignores her, but I can see that she's hurting still." Venus said.
"It's cruel. It must be sad feeling so unloved." Kunzite said.
Venus looked back at the Prince and Princess smiling at each other.
Venus smiled. "Not anymore." She said and
pointed them out to Kunzite. He looked and smiled.


Serenity smiled at Endymion. He was making her laugh.
It felt good to laugh with him. For the first time in her
life, she felt truly happy. "So, Serin," He began. Serenity
had insisted that he called her Serin, instead of Serenity.
He also insisted that she called him Endy.
"Yes?" she asked. "Do you have a place that you 
love in this palace? Like a favorite spot?" He asked.
She stopped and thought of her rose garden. 
She nodded and pulled him away. "Come on, I'll show it to you!"
She exclaimed. He laughed and ran with her.
Because of her weak condition, she never actually ran before,
So this was her first time. By the time they got to the garden, she 
was rather breathless.
"Are you alright?" He asked. She nodded and smiled.
"Just got carried away." She said. Then, she pointed at her spot, under the
tree. He looked and gasped suddenly. He remembered about the
drawing. "What's the matter, Endy?" She asked. Her voice filled
with worry and concern. He looked at her. Her face, like her
voice, was filled with equal worry and concern.
He smiled. "It's beautiful." He said. She brightened immediately.
She ran to her favorite spot and sat down. He followed her,
walking slowly. 'I can't believe this. She drew the drawing! Her name,
Serin, it's her! I found her!' He thought. Then, as he sat down beside
her, he gave her a kiss on the cheek. She blushed.
"What was that for?" She asked. He shrugged. "For you. For
being so kind and so beautiful." He said.
She turned redder, making him chuckle.

Queen Jezelda was planning an attack on the Moon Kingdom. 
She wanted Queen Serenity to pay for what she did to her and her husband. 
Jezelda used to be a noble lady in the Moon court, until it was
Found out that she and her husband had a plan to overthrow the King.
The King of the Moon, King Joseph gathered his troops to attack
When he heard of the plan. King Joseph was killed. Queen Serenity, 
heartbroken but fearful for her people, used the crystal and the 
whole army of Jezelda and her husband were banished. 
Jezelda's husband and half of the army died
because of the powerful force of the crystal and Jezelda swore revenge.
It was her revenge that kept her alive in a place filled with hate such
as the Negaverse. She had sold her soul to the dark powers of the
Negaverse and swore she would never rest until the family of
Serenity are killed. 
"Trybot!" She shouted. Trybot, a youma of the Negaverse and also
the general of Jezelda's army appeared. He bowed down before her.
"Yes, My Queen?" He asked. "Trybot, send a little group from your
army to attack the Moon Kingdom. I want them to feel my new powers
a few times before I unleash my greatest power." She said.
He smiled. "Your wish shall be done, My Queen." He said and
left. "Soon, Serenity." Jezelda said. "Soon you will feel
my wrath." She said, smiling coldly. 

Back in the Moon, Mars and Jadeite were walking through the garden. 
Mars was busily explaining the defense 
"If you're not interested in what I have to say, Jadeite, tell
me now and be done with it." 
Mars snapped. Jadeite grinned. "I am interested, Lady Mars,
but I was too enchanted by your beauty to actually
listen to what you're saying." He said. 
"I am a Guardian Senshi and I am responsible
for the defense of this palace, so watch it!" Jadeite laughed.
"Your personal defense seemed to be quite in order." He teased.
Mars, clearly not amused by Jadeite's jokes, rolled her eyes.
Suddenly, something caught her eye and she looked up to 
See the group of youmas that were
floating above them. "YOUMAS!" She shouted.

"MARS POWER!"

Sailor Mars stood before the shocked Jadeite, but it didn't take
him awhile to snap back to reality.

"RUBY FIRE!"

"Mars fire Ignite !"

The attack put the youmas into action. Jadeite drew his sword, knowing
that his attacks alone wouldn't stop the youmas. He managed to strike
at a green youma at his right, but found two more heading his way.
Mars shouted in her communicator. "Mars to Senshi,
a youma attack near the palace gate! Code red everyone!"
The others arrived quickly.

"Mercury Bubble Blast!"

"Venus Crescent Beam Smash!"

"Jupiter Thunder Crash!"

Thanks to the Senshi and Generals, the youma were dusted quickly.
The Queen and Satoru arrived just as the last youmas were destroyed.
"Thank you, Generals. For helping
the Senshi with their duties." The Queen said. Satoru nodded.
But before another word was said, Jezelda appeared.
"Hello, Serenity." She said. Queen Serenity gasped in shock.
"Jezelda!" She exclaimed. "Quite right, Queenie. We meet again,
but in different circumstances. This time, my sole purpose is
to destroy you and your Kingdom." Jezelda said, with pure hatred in her
eyes. Queen Serenity was taken back. But Satoru, who recognize
Jezelda as the person who killed his father, spoke up,
"You will not succeed in conquering the Moon Kingdom!" He shouted.
She gave him a look that made him feel as if he was lower than dust
and it made him angrier. "Leave now, before I kill you!" Satoru shouted.
Jezelda snorted. "I can kill you with the snap of my fingers, boy.
You better watch what you say." She said and with that she disappeared.


Friday, the day of the ball came quickly. 
By this time, Endymion and Serenity couldn't leave each other's
Side. They both felt a strong attraction to each other. 
Serenity was confused. She had never fallen in love with anyone before,
So she didn't know what she was feeling. So, she had the need to
Ask Mars, her best friend what she was feeling. Mars giggled and
then told Serenity that she was in love. Serenity was surprised,
for she felt that she couldn't fall in love with the prince.
"Why?" Asked Mars. "I've only known him for four days!" She exclaimed.
"Princess, love knows no reason. There are no laws with love, Princess.
If you love him, with all your heart, nothing else matters.
Trust me, Princess. Follow your heart!" Mars said. Serenity looked at her,
the uncertainty in her face was gone. It was now replaced with a
knowing smile. "Where did you learn so much about love, Mars?" she asked.
Mars blushed. "I suppose I spent too much time with Venus." She said.
Serenity shook her head. "Jadeite's something isn't he?" Serenity asked.
Mars looked at her surprised. "Don't look so surprised, Mars. You
are my best friend, I know you. There is nothing wrong with falling
in love, even if you're a senshi. Love knows no reason, remember?" 
Serenity teased. Mars laughed. "Using my own words against me,
I see." Serenity giggled. "I better get going." She said.
"Where to, Princess?" Mars asked. "To see Endy. And you, Mars?"
Serenity asked. "To see Jadeite." Mars answered. The two girls 
went their separate ways. Endymion and Jadeite's conversation wasn't that
different that the girls'. "Go for it, Endy." Jadeite said.
"But she's four years younger and we've only known each other
for four days." Endymion said. Jadeite grinned slyly.
"I sense a pattern." He said. Endymion looked confused.
"What do you mean?" he asked. "Four years and four days. Nothing matters."
Jadeite said and stood up. "Where are you going, I still haven't
figured this out!" Endymion exclaimed. "You don't have to. Not with me.
She's the one you should talk to. Follow your heart, my Prince."
Jadeite said. Endymion grinned. "Going to see Mars?"
he teased. Jadeite smiled. "I'm following my heart." 
Endymion shook his head. 'Maybe it's time I follow my heart.' He thought.

On Thursday's attack, after their
conversation with Serenity and Endymion, Mars and Jadeite was a step
closer to a kiss, when the alarm rang. Mars wanted to snap at the alarm
and same for Jadeite. 'We were so close!' Jadeite shouted in his mind.
'He almost kissed me you dumb alarm!!!!!' Mars nearly shouted.
But then, frustration hitting him, Jadeite said,
"The Heck with battles!" and kissed her.
Shocked but happy, Mars kissed him back.
The two arrived five minutes late for the battle. Mercury was down and
Their leaders, Venus and Kunzite, shouted at the two.
They ignored their angry leaders and walked around with a wide
Grin on their faces that day. 

Before nightfall, Serenity went to Mars' room. With a sly grin,
she spoke up, "So?" Mars tried her best not to blush, though
it was no use, her cheeks were pink. Serenity giggled.
"Come on, Rei. I know Jadeite kissed you. The whole Kingdom knows!"
She exclaimed. Mars dropped the brush she was holding. Serenity
looked at her friend as if she was insane. "Mars, I was only joking.
Only the rest of the senshi and the Generals know." Serenity said.
Mars breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank Heavens. Because if your brother
knows..." Her voice trailed off. Serenity watched her in alarm.
"What? What's wrong with my brother?" She asked. Mars sighed.
"We swore we would never tell you about this, Serin. But I guess you'd
find out sooner or later anyway. Your brother didn't want us to guard
you anymore. The senshi were meant to protect the Chosen one of
the crystal. It was your mother's idea. She thought it would be best
if he has two sets of guardians. But we said we swore to protect you,
so we refused. Your brother looked as if he could kill us, but since
he didn't have the crystal yet, he couldn't. So he said that if he hears
anything bad about any of us, we'd be stripped off of our powers and
sent back home." Mars said. Serenity gasped. She shook her head in
disbelief. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes. "He couldn't!
Even Satoru can't be that cruel!" She managed to choke out.
Mars looked at her with eyes filled with tears.
"I'm sorry, Serin. It's true." She said quietly. Serenity stared
at the wall. Tears flowing down her cheek. No one cared. Only her friends.
But they were about to be taken from her. She was thankful they were
still there. But the fact that her brother, her OWN brother and mother
were about to take the ones she loved most in the universe away from
her was too much. 'Do they hate me this much? So much that they don't
want anyone to care for me? For anyone to even love me?' She thought.
With that, she fled out of Mars' room. "Serin!" Mars shouted.
But Serenity ran and didn't look back. Her tears blinded her 
And she slammed straight into someone.
As she looked up, her eyes widened as she realized who she had crashed into.

Endymion was restless. He had to talk to Serin.
He felt that he needed to tell her about his feelings.
How he loved her with all his heart. Sighing, he walked outside.
He needed air. With any luck, he would bump into Serin.
The thought was pleasant and he walked outside with a smile.
He didn't walk long until he realized she might be heading towards the
garden. He was about to turn the corner when someone crashed into him.
It was then that he noticed who it was that crashed into him.
"Serin?" He asked. Serenity's eyes went wide. She gulped and began to
run again. "Serin!" He shouted, running after her.

'No! I can't let him see me like this! I don't want him to pity me.
He might even go away if he finds out even my own mother doesn't love
me. I don't want to lose him!' She cried in her thoughts. But she
kept hearing him calling her name. It was then that she knew he was
chasing her. 'No! Endy, please, leave me be.' She silently begged.
But it was no use, he caught up with her and captured her hand
in his. Knowing she
couldn't stop the tears she turned her head away. She didn't want him
to see her like this, but he reached out and made her face him.
"What's wrong, Serin?" He whispered. A soft whimper escaped her lips. 
As he held her, he kept asking, "What's wrong? Please tell me. 
What's wrong?"
Her face crumpled and she started to cry uncontrollably.

As he held her, he could actually feel her pain. He felt like crying
too. "Please tell me what's wrong." He said softly. It was then that
she looked up and took a deep breath. She began her sad tale.
"And so I heard from Mars he and my mother were about to take the people
I love most away from me." She finished. Her eyes were dry now.
But it was still filled with pain. He felt sorry for her. Because she
felt so unloved nearly all her life. "It is true. I am unloved." She
said after a long pause. She looked down on the ground as she said so.
And for the second time, he tilted her chin up so she could face him.
"No." He said firmly. "You are not unloved. Your friends love you.
They stood by your side. Jadeite grew fond of you too." He said.
She started to smile. But it was his last sentence that surprised her,
"I love you." He said. She was shocked. She even took a step back.
She looked at him. His eyes were sincere. It was definitely love
that was shining through his eyes. She knew. She had seen it many times
in eyes of many couples in the Kingdom. It was true love. And so she
knew, the feeling she felt for him was love too. "I...." She didn't even
finish her sentence. She didn't need to. For he knew. He already knew.
He leaned towards her and their lips touched for the first time. 

Serenity woke up feeling wonderful for once. She was grinning from ear
to ear. She wanted to skip in the hallways and sing on the top
of her voice. But she decided against it. She might make the
windows crack. She giggled at the thought. As she walked out of her
room, Mars was waiting outside. "Serin, are you OK?" She asked.
Serenity gasped. She forgot all about Mars. She must have been
worried sick. She nodded. "I'm alright. Thank you." She said, smiling.
Mars looked at her with a bewildered expression on her face.
Endymion took this perfect timing to show up. Serenity's face brightened
straightaway. Taking her hand, the Prince took her away and she
waved at a shocked Mars as they took for the garden. Mars shook
her head. "No way! She's actually taken my advice seriously!"
She said, as she watched the two lovebirds go off. She giggled.
'Venus is going to love this!' She thought as she walked
towards the meeting room.

Mars entered the meeting room. She had a knowing smile on her face.
Venus was instantly suspicious. 'This can't be good.'
The Generals were there as well. "What is it Mars?"
Venus asked. Mars grinned. "Have you noticed how beautiful it is today,
Venus?" She said.
Venus looked at her impatiently. "What is it that you wish to tell
me, Mars?" She asked. "The sun is shining, flower are blooming,
birds singing." Mars said. Everyone looked at her as if
she had gone insane. But the senshi of Love knew what she just said.
"Finally! I was waiting for this!" She exclaimed.
It was Mars that looked confused. "You knew?" She asked. Venus gave her
a sly smile. "I'm the senshi of love, girl! I know soul mates when
I see 'em!" Declared Venus. She gave her V-for-Victory sign.
Mars shook her head. "You could've told me!" She said. Venus grinned.
"I wanted you to concentrate more on battles." She said. Mars shook
her head. "OK, who, what, where and when." Jupiter said.
"The Princess and the Prince, falling for each other." Mars said.
"Really?" Jupiter asked. The Generals
looked shocked, except for Jadeite who had been expecting this.
"I say that it's about time!" He stated.
"You knew?" Kunzite asked. Jadeite nodded.
"The prince came for me for advice." He said.
"To you? Why?" Zoicite asked.
"Because he knew none of you knew the answer." Jadeite said slyly.
The three glared at him and whacked him
on the head. 

Jezelda watched with interest what was going on in the Moon Kingdom.
"So, the young Princess is ignored by her mother." She said.
"Tsk, tsk. Serenity, you shouldn't have. Looks like you are not
giving your daughter enough attention." She said, an evil scheme
forming in the back of her mind. Then, with an evil smile, she said,
"Then I guess you want mind me using your daughter now,
would you? I'm sure her death will not devastate you. I will instead
use her to destroy you." She laughed. "How will it feel, Serenity?
To have your life taken by your own daughter's hands?" She shouted,
laughing madly into the darkness that is the Negaverse.

"A ball?" Serenity said. Mars nodded. "I heard from your mother. She's
been telling everyone about it." Mars said. "Figures." Serenity said
quietly. 'She told everyone but me.' She thought. Her eyes filled with
tears again. This time, it wasn't tears of pain, it was tears of anger.
'Do you hate me mother? Why mother? Why do you hate me so?' She thought
as she held the tears back. "Serin? Serin?" Mars asked. Serenity snapped
back to reality. "I'm sorry Mars, what were you saying?" She asked.
"I was telling you about Mina-chan's new dress. Looks like the
senshi of Love's planning to do something daring and she's going to
wear an orange dress to the ball." Mars said. Serenity gaped in shock.
"Orange??!!" She nearly shouted. Mars giggled and nodded.
"I don't know WHY she would want to wear an ORANGE dress! That girl
has absolutely no tastes whatsoever!" Mars declared. The two exchanged
looks and burst out laughing. "I'm guessing you're wearing red, Rei?"
Serenity asked after they calmed down. Mars nodded. "Of course. I only
wear red or black. And since your mother is holding this ball strictly
with no black dress rules, I guess it'll have to be red." Mars said.
Serenity giggled. "What will you be wearing, Serin?" Mars asked.
"I don't know, Rei-chan. I guess something white." She said simply.
Mars rolled her eyes. "You shouldn't! Wear blue or something!"
She exclaimed. Serenity gave her friend a look. "Mars, you know
that's not allowed. Mother would kill me for wearing something else
than white." Serenity said. Mars threw a sly smile at her.
"Why not? It'll just catch your mother's attention. It'll be the first
time." Mars said. Serenity looked at her. Then, a sly smile appeared
on her lips as well. She wanted to do something against the rules for
a change. "You know what, Rei-chan, that's EXACTLY what I'm going to do!"
Serenity exclaimed. Mars laughed. "It's about time you bend the rules
a bit, girl!" She exclaimed.

The night of the ball

"Serin! Are you done yet?" Mars asked. Mars wore a short red sleeveless 
dress. It was just a little shorter than her senshi uniform.
(which would be really short then.) Venus shook her head in
disapproval as she saw the dress. "Too revealing." She had said.
She shouldn't have talked. Mars looked at her dress and burst out laughing,
as did the other senshi. Venus blushed. She was famous for
wearing the most revealing dresses after all. She wore a pale yellow
dress, though it was bare in the stomach area and what held it in place
were two string at the sides. The dress was shorter than Mars'.
Mercury wore a spaghetti strap long blue dress. She looked
Stunning. Jupiter wore a pastel green dress. 
The four looked beautiful. Mars had left her hair down as usual.
Mercury had a little butterfly clip on her hair. Jupiter had
left her hair down for once and the girls agreed that she looked great
with her hair down. Venus had left the red bow on her desk and
put up her hair in a French plait instead. After about ten minutes,
Serenity walked out of her room. She and Mars had decided against the
pastel dress. Instead, they chose an ivory color dress that was near
white, but a little creamy color. It had spaghetti straps, long and
embroidered on the bottom of the dress were roses, simple white roses.
She wore a necklace with the shape of the crescent moon.
She wore her hair in 'Meatballs' as usual, but what completed 
The picture was the bright smile that was on her face.
"You look great!" Mars exclaimed.
"Way hot!" Venus said with a wink.
"Beautiful, Serin." Mercury said.
"You go girl!" Jupiter said.
But it was the fifth voice that brought a soft, warm smile to her
face. "Simply enchanting, Princess." Serenity and the girls looked
at the source of the voice.
"Thank you, Luna." Serenity said.
"You look marvelous, Princess." Said Artemis who was behind Luna.
"You girl better get to the ball. You don't want to be late, now,
would we?" Luna said. They giggled and walked towards the ball.

The Four Generals and the Prince waited patiently as the girls arrive.
"They sure are taking their time." Jadeite muttered. Zoicite gave a grin.
"Can't wait to see Mars with that dress she told you about, Jed?"
Zoicite asked slyly. Jadeite gave him a look.
"They'll be here." Nephrite said calmly.
"You know how girls are." Kunzite said. The others exchanged
looks and stared at him. "What?" He said, noticing their looks.
"Since when do you know so much about girls, you, our loveless leader?"
Jadeite teased. Kunzite gave him a cold glare.
"I have four sisters back home, Jadeite. They spend a little too much
time in the bathroom each morning, so I know." He said. The guys laughed.
"Easy, Kunz. We were just joking." Endymion said.
Kunzite just muttered something under his breath.
But as the four guys were looking at him and
he had the best view to the stairway, he was the first to gasp at
the sight. As the four others turned, they gasped as well.
Five angels walked down the stairs. But the most angelic of all was
the girl with the white dress.
"Wow." Jadeite breathed.
"You can say that again." Endymion said, he was breathless.
Jadeite, hearing the Prince, shrugged.
"Wow." He said again. The four looked at him and shook their heads.

As the girls descended from the stairs, their eyes were searching the
room to a specific bunch of guys. They broke into grins 
as they saw their loved ones' faces. Moving towards them, the guys
looked flushed, but happy. Venus giggled. "I think the sight of us
really got to them." She whispered. "You mean the sight of you
and that dress." Serenity teased. "Hey! Rei's wearing the same thing!"
Venus exclaimed. The girl giggled. "Lets show the guys how
enchanting we can be." Jupiter said with a knowing smile.
The girls exchanged looks and nodded. "They wouldn't know what hit them!"
Venus said. "With that dress, Venus, I think all the men in this
room could faint." Jupiter teased. Venus was fuming. "It's not
funny, Mako-chan!" She hissed. "I'm still surprised Artemis let
you go with that dress." Mercury said. "That's because I made a bargain
with him. A night alone with Luna with the privilege of wearing this
dress." Venus said. The girls giggled. But as they saw that the Queen
was near, they tried their best not to make a sound.
"I see the senshi are enjoying themselves, Mother." Satoru said.
The Queen nodded. "This could be one of the last ball they would attend.
Jezelda will certainly attack soon. Prepare yourself, son." She said.
Satoru nodded. "I just wish the Crystal would give me the power soon.
We could use its powers right now." He said.
"When the time is right, the Crystal will release its powers. It's a matter
of time. You will get what was promised to you." The Queen said.
