  5. Have Fun!

Prize Method - Sucker Tree

I make a Tree shape using poster board, or coragated paper and put it overtop of a sheet of styrophome. Then I poke tons of holes everywhere. Next I fill those holes with a sucker. I colour the tips of about 5 suckers with a black marker. I insert them into the tree holes in various locations. The shape of the thing doesn't have to be a tree. I have changed it according to the season, e.g. a Snowman, a Sunshine, etc. This is how it works. During the program, if kids are sitting quietly, or being loud when it's time to be loud, I choose a few kids, now and then, to come pick a sucker. (Always have a leader supervising the kids who are picking suckers) If the sucker has a black tip, they get to choose a larger candy or prize. If it does not, they get to keep the sucker. They are reminded about rule #4, that says, Save your prizes until the end. This includes all candy prizes.
Game #1 - Whip Cream Squirt Off

This is a Messy Game! Select 4 girls and 4 boys. 2 boys and 2 girls sit in chairs with garbage bags over them. Put whip cream on their faces to look like a beard. The remaining 2 girls and 2 boys are given squirt bottles filled with water. On "Go" the players with the squirt bottles try to spray off all the whip cream. The first team to have all the whip cream sprayed off one of the pairs wins! Play upbeat, energetic music while game is played. The music starts on "Go" and stops when a team wins. Encourage kids to cheer loudly for their team! This is a good time to hand out incentives too!
Puppet Skit - The Unforgiving Servant

This skit was taken from a puppet script book and because of copyright stuff, I can't put it here. So, I'll write my own version of the story, and put it here in a few days. Check back soon!
Game #2 - Tricycle Race

Borrow some old tricycles from families in your church. You will need 2.
Choose 5 girls and 5 boys. The first player gets on the tricycle and rides it to the finish line and back. Then the next player does the same, until all players have had a turn. The first team to be sitting in a straight line wins! It's usually quite comical, as the kids are too big for the tricycles. Play upbeat, energetic music while game is played. The music starts on "Go" and stops when a team wins. Encourage kids to cheer loudly for their team! This is a good time to hand out incentives too!
Elroy & The Big Red Guy (looks like "Elmo") Skit

Elroy & The Big Red Guy coming running in playing basketball. The do this for a few seconds. Then a fight breaks out. The leader steps in to break up the fight. The leader trys to figure out what went wrong, and asks them if their behaviour is the appropriate way to fix a problem. Both characters shake heads "no". (Characters NEVER talk!) The leader suggests other ways they could have handled the situation. You could even get suggestions from the kids. Then the characters make up, by shaking hands, or giving each other a hug, and continue playing basketball as they run out the door.
Memory Verse

Forgive your brother from your heart. Matthew 18:35

Write each word on an inflated balloon with a marker. Tape the balloons to a wall or backdrop. Have the kids say the verse a few times. Choose a volunteer to pop a balloon. Say the verse again. Each time a balloon is popped, say the verse together with the kids.
Salvation Message & Close in Prayer

Take a few minutes to talk about Jesus being your best friend. Tell the kids that Jesus wants to be their best friend. Let the kids respond by a repeat after me prayer. Then, the leader can Close in prayer.
