Community Service
It was a unanimous vote by the troop to adopt a family for Christmas 2001. We will be giving the YWCA/YMCA a troop check for $125.00 to adopt a local area family this year. The Y will make sure the family receives, gifts and food for the holiday season. Way to go Troop 280! You are the best!
Four agencies benefited from our 2000 Cookie sales. We donated to the S.P.C.A. and to Enterprise Village in Largo. Our left over cookies went to the Church we hold our meetings at to help stock their food pantry. We will also be donating to the YWCA/YMCA in St. Petersburg to help a family during the 2001 Christmas holidays.
Valentines for Vets February 1999
On February 10 we will be making Valentines for Vets. This is a wonderful effort on the part of Troop 280. The troop would like to show our brave and courageous veterans appreciation for service to our country. Happy Valentine's Day!!
We received a heart-felt thank you letter from the Vet Administration Hospital last week. The Valentine cards were greatly appreciated and brought a little sunshine to the hospital and patients. They also loved the cookies!  It is so nice to make a difference and to bring cheer to others.
Carolling for Food
1998
We Help was most appreciative of the canned food items our troop collected by Carolling for food in the local neighborhood. We had a blast and collected hundreds of food items. We really helped stock the pantry for the holiday season!
