Summer FunJune 6, 1998 Summer is here! Summer is here! What a year to remember. First El Nino, then kids killing kids. But still, summer is finally here! This summer will probably be fairly different for me. In the past, I have gone to summer school or stayed at home. This year I plan on looking for a job or internship. Still, when summer arrived, I still feel a little sad. I know I love summer vaction and look forward to it, but I still know that next year is my senior year! That means I soon will be going to college, which is okay. But that means I will be growing up, I won't be able to do any more childish things! There are pros and cons, but still, adulthood is lurking around the corner. Soon, I will be taking SATs and filling out millions of applications. I had always dreamed of growing up; when I was a child, I would dream about growing up and having tons of freedom. Now that I have a little taste, I know freedom comes with responsibility, which I don't really want. Not too much anyway. Still, I will soon have to face the future. I soon will be growing up. I know understand why everyone tells you to enjoy your childhood. You only get one childhood, even though freedom is limited, responsibility is zero. You can do almost anything you please, besides killing people. Once adults, I won't be able to swing on the swings, or slide down the slide, or even play Candy Land. I soon will be paying taxes, paying bills, watching the news, oh no! I will try to enjoy and make most of my senior year. I also find it funny at the end of the year when many students cry. Everyone talks about summer vaction, but when it finally comes, everyone does not want the school year to end. Also, the summer can be pretty boring. It is fairly hard to find something constructive to do everyday. When I went to school, I probably do homework for 2-4 hours a night, but in the summer, there is no homework. Sure you can go out with your friends, but the money supply is not unlimited. You may find some nights just sitting at home watching the seconds fly by. Oh well, I will try to enjoy this summer vaction to the maximum. I know I will only have one more summer vaction after this =( Well, hope everyone has a great summer vaction, and everyone stay safe! My TeethJune 10, 1998 Today's editorial is about wisdom teeth. Once a person reaches the 17 to 20 years of age, these wisdom teeth start to grow. Their purpose is just so we can have more teeth to eat delicious food. But the bad part about these teeth is they tend to grow in wierd angles! So in order to keep our teeth straight, we have to pull out the wisdom teeth=( My wisdom teeth are starting to grow, which means I will have to undergo some sort of surgery to pull out my teeth=( I have seen other people go under the same thing; they said it was extremely painful! Oh no!! I do not want to feel extreme pain! Why do they have to grow anyways? Well, as soon as I get my teeth pulled out, I will write about how this felt. If you have had your wisdom teeth pulled out, please share with me your experience. I just want to know how it feels before the same thing happens to me. Well, thanks for reading! Keep coming back too! DrivingJune 24, 1998 Driving. Practically ever teenager at the age of 15 start to think about driving. Most teens at the age of 16 have to drive. Now with the new law (I myself am not too sure about) will take effect on July 1, 1998. While many parents may take a huge sigh, thousands of teens are complaining. I remember when I was 15, all I could think about was driving. I got my car and was ready to hit the road. At first driving was a little scary because I was not used to it. I also got really nervous when I saw another car. Now driving is easy. At first, driving was hard, but now it is easy. Being the eldest in the family, I have the most responsibility. Now that I can drive, I have many errands to run everyday. First, I have to take my sister to school, swimming class, and pick her up =( i also have to drive my grandma to school every Wednesday. Then I will have to go to summer school at De Anza, and class starts at 6:00 P.M. to 10:10 P.M. I will have to drive at rush hour and then drive at night. I know that everyone loves to drive, but I personally do not adore driving. I would like to avoid driving if I could. First because when driving, you always have to pay attention and beaware of what is happening. I usually like to sleep or look at the scenary; now I cannot do that. Also, driving is another responsibility I have. I do not want anymore responsibility. Oh well, I guess I just have to grow up. All that I wanted to say is do not be in such a rush to drive. Everyone should enjoy life and have fun =) There will be plenty of opportunities to drive when you grow old, hehe =) Well thanks, and take care! |
Thanks and come again! This site is still under construction.
