Fed, as it is often called, is an adult space fantasy multi-player game by Interactive Broadcasting. And when I said multi-player, I mean like massively multiplayer! At one time, Fed found itself on AOL. When AOL went unlimited, it was common to find 700+ other people on the game all at the same time! Since then, Fed has moved to the World Wide Web and is now charging 60 cents a minute. Although numbers have dwindled and many players prefer to reminisce about the "good ol' days", I think it's still as fun as ever!!
When you enter dataspace, you will find yourself on Earth - but many centuries in the future! As I mentioned before, it is a adult space fantasy - none of your killing orcs and other creatures, here! (Adult does not mean we're all adults here - younger players are always welcome! However, you are expected to behave appropriately.) Federation involves interstellar trade and exploration...however, it's not all work! Role-playing and gaining friendships can play an important role, too! Puzzles can be found on many planets and events occur every night - some include fighting while others a a test of mental skill. Personally, I always skip the work part and just party, anyway;) But as you advance in the ranks, you will find that alliances with other players will prove to be very useful!
You start as a GroundHog, but will soon find yourself hauling cargo between planets, trading commodities, running a company or even designing and running an entire planet! Eventually, one can solve a puzzle, saving the universe from the Martians and rule over a duchy of 20 planets!
