After promoting to GM, I quickly gave out my 50,000 tons in jobs - most of it being link materials I had stored up that I was sending to Sol...Then, I was an Explorer and I soon got my permit. I had had my planet written up for months (although now I would really like to rewrite it again because I based it on a book and would like to make something original) so now all I had to do was kinda figure out the WB and cut and paste. Figuring out the WB wasn't that hard at all, but it wasn't fun cutting and pasting 100+locations, all 14 objects/mobiles and several events;) I've hardly gone into the workbench since;) Although, I wouldn't have a problem with it...like I said earlier, it's lots of fun:o) I remember Faster50 staying up with me as I worked on it...I doubt I got much sleep those few days. July 11th I think it was...a few days after my RL birthday..i was hoping to get it before my birthday so I could hold a TTTT party...:::shrugs:: Oh well:o) Anyway, I onlined on the 14th, I think...SafyrEyes helped me set up my exchange:o) She was a Squire then...but she had started spying on me while I was an Explorer so she could watch:o) I think that fanfare is cut and pasted somewhere on my computer:o)
Squire was lots of fun:o) I have no idea how good my Ex was...I've never really understood it all that well...I mean, I understand how planets work and everything, but I'm not sure at all what is considered good or bad...Well, my planet was hanging around in Sol for a while. I didn't know if I was going to stay with Fed and so I didn't want to get a spot in a duchy...A few months later, we held the End of the Universe Party...Although I was a bit sad throughout since Princess Di had passed away a few days before...:::sniffle:::
The End of the Universe Party was fun, tho. I got a glimpse of Horsell...also had a party on Snark:o)
Well, Fed soon became WebFed. I often wandered into the chat rooms and when IBGames finally got their webpage up, I visited that and set up and account. Evenutally, they set up Fed - but we had to telnet to it. So for a while I struggled with trying to figure out what this telnet thing was:o) I eventually figured it out and stepped into dataspace! However, nothing counted yet and everybody was a hauler for a while. I tried being Eaudrey for a while....but I really didn't like it that way, so I changed it to just Audrey. I also remember being Ghiradelli once:o) And I made a few alts - Pandemonium and Melian...I also remember Crush being a planet...I don't remember why there weren't any other planets...I think we had our personas back, but we couldn't online planets or something...but Crusherbco had been and explorer and then got his planet or something...He had the TTTT for weeks;)
One day, I entered Fed and there were planets! I was really excited and immediately onlined my planet...
I never gave out many factories...I didn't think I would be around long. But then, pay fed took a while rolling around, so I gave out a couple. Course, now Fed is so top heavy there really aren't that many people to give facs to anyway:o) :::suddenly blushes:: You know, now that I think about it, I guess several of my FO's liked me..of course, I am awfully dense and didn't get it;) Speaking of people liking me, I've had several people propose to me in Fed :::blushes some more::: Well, I guess FD didn't count...he was just looking for a Fed family and I happened to be the closest person...or maybe he was half serious...and Coffeeee and Nark were joking around...I don't get this Fed relationship stuff:o) Its quite flattering, I guess...I don't think all that many people in RL have had crushes on me...well...if they have, I'm the type of person who's always the last to know so of course, I haven't heard a thing:o)...I wouldn't let them, anyway...I'm much too uncomfortable around people who like me:o) Anyway, I guess its only cuz I take relationships too seriously...hehe...as one person diagramed in the news, Fed relationships now often consist of walking into CD's or the Cantina or something, chatting, proposing, getting married and then getting divorced;)
Anyway....so I made Thane on November 23rd...umm.. I think I was invited to join Shade around then...maybe it was a little later or earlier...I'm not sure when I made Indy..but I remember joining Backdraft on March 16th...and well, now I'm a Techie and I've been a Techie for quite a while:o) Being a PO has been rather boring - I've had hardly any reason to work at all past Squire since I really have never had that many defs that were worth hauling in and my planet made money while I was away - unlike FO where you had to be online to get your facs to work. I suppose I've had some fun times as PO - but it will never compare to the times I had as an FO. I still do puzzles, attend parties every now and then, been to a few weddings, often join in on events...but I guess it just isn't the same.
My planet's a bit over a year old now and in a few months, my Fed anniversary will becoming up. 2 years if you're counting from '96 and 3 if you're counting from '95:o) I still love Fed nowadays, but it'll never be quite the same as it was before. Fed started Charging in like Feb. and I came back about a month later. When I popped back onto 12, I don't think I knew half of the people. I probably still don't know many of the other POs in the Alliance (the Duchies of BD, Legacy and Shade) all that well...maybe someday I will. Of course, soon, people will begin to solve the Duke puzzle and there will be many more Duchies and ranks of people I'll have to memorize...:::sigh:::...I miss AOL Fed, even if there was lag and puzzle snerts;) But I think that might have been the things that made it special...if I could, I'd make myself an alt and get to be an FO again...but I doubt it'll be the same....Well, I still love you Fed and will always love you no matter how many reincarnations you go through because I'll always remember the good times and that'll keep me coming back:o)
