THE OUTER YOU
In this part of the reading you will read about the twelve houses of the horoscope. They describe the twelve areas of life in which everyone operates on a daily basis. You will read how you are likely to react and handle each of these areas of life according to your unique personality and the specific traits described as the Inner you.
The horoscope is divided into twelve sections or houses. Each house relates to a specific part of the life. This reading will consider each house by discussing the zodiac sign influencing the sector. It also will discuss the influence emerging when one or more planets occupy the houses, and the sensitive aspects formed between these bodies.
In constructing an accurate horoscope the time of day must be known to establish properly the Rising sign or Ascendant. The Rising sign is the sign of the zodiac positioned on the eastern horizon (on the cusp of the first house) at birth. The correctness of this point is critical in constructing and interpreting the chart. The Ascendant and the zodiac sign on each of the 12 house details the outer you.
THE FIRST HOUSE . . . . YOUR PERSONALITY
This first house is the house of the self as it deals with the physical person. The Rising sign/Ascendant is a filter lens through which the Sun, the Moon, and the planets come in to play. The Ascendant distinguishes the different variables in disposition, temperament and even physical appearances in persons born on the same day, but at different times. Your Ascendant denotes the way you look at life. Often, it's the impression of "you" perceived by those around you.
Libra
Libra rising produces a personality that is naturally diplomatic and sociable. Graciousness, compatibility, and sociability are your obvious personality traits. This is the sign of the scales of balance and justice. The primary quality associated with Libra is a strong sense of fair play. You can see both sides of nearly any issue, and there is always a demand in your nature that justice be served. Perhaps because of this latter trait, an amazing number of the world's most famous political leaders have had Libra on the rise.
With Libra on the rise, you are good at debate, but you are not likely to be too argumentative. You strive to win your points in ways that are shrewd and politically careful. Your fixed nature is well hidden by your cooperative demeanor.
You don't function well in discordant environments as there is an overwhelming need in your nature for harmony. Neatness and order must be maintained if you are to remain comfortable in any situation. You may constantly find yourself readjusting to align yourself to the forces around you to get an inner sense of balance. You have such an even disposition, and so much charm, that you can usually please nearly everyone. You usually try to do just that. You are one who reacts to others, and you are better suited to making your way by being agreeable and taking what comes your way almost naturally.
(Yup - Of course, somebody stepping into my room would disagree withthe neatness and order part ...but my room isorganized!!1 Just in a sloppy kinda way....
On the negative side of Libra rising is the tendency to maintain the status quo. You want to avoid the disruption of change and avoid making waves. You may give in sometimes to the temptations of indolence. You may have a natural tendency to say what you think will please others, rather than what you really feel. The object being to hide your true feelings for the sake of winning approval and maintaining order and harmony.
Because of your inborn peace-loving and diplomatic tendencies, you are sometimes prone to fail in the primary job of taking care of number one. You are not very good at aggressively advancing yourself. You need to concentrate on learning how to stick up for yourself and realize your identity.
(:::laugh::: This is sounding a bit redundant:o) But yes again...I really am awful at taking care of me first)
Mars in the first house
The Mars first house placement intensifies the assertiveness of the personality type described by your Ascendant. With any Ascendant, Mars in the first house increases the vitality, and produces a somewhat more assertive, more outgoing, and more energetic individual. Your appearance is likely to be robust and muscular and you may be stronger that other members of your family of the same sex. (Hmm...this firstpart seems to be a bit off the mark) You are always one to be directly involved in affairs; never an idle bystander. This element produces drive and creates more ambition and the aptitude for hard work, with a competitive drive for recognition and acclaim. This position is usually considered, by traditionalists, to be more desirable for men than for women, because it displays the assertive characteristics associated with males. Females with this placement often have the self-confidence and competitive traits to enter and succeed in male dominated professions. (This last part seemsaccurate, tho)
Mars conjunct Saturn
The conjunction of Mars and Saturn shows that you can use your energies constructively. Any tendency shown elsewhere in your chart to act on impulse is tempered with restraint. You rarely waste energies on unproductive activities. You are a physical person, but you know how to control and use of your physical energies. This aspect produces the capacity for hard work, enduring strength, and resourcefulness. Often this conjunction marks a tendency toward anger or hard feelings that you must control, if you can. You must avoid the negative attitudes and resentments that sometimes develop.
Saturn in the first house
Saturn is positioned in your first house, so it too becomes an important element of your personality. This placement suggests a conservative slant in your personality. You project a certain stiffness, seriousness, and determination reflected in your presentation of yourself to the world. You can become somewhat of a law unto oneself, trying to dominate others with whom you come in contact. Your disposition is serious and resolute making it hard for you ever to relax and have a good time. (What? Hmm...I'm pretty sure I know how to have a good time...) You are highly self-disciplined, but prone to depression at times. You have to deal with a very sharp conflict in your nature imposed by Saturn, as your demeanor can be a cover up for a shyness or an inferiority complex. Your personality is more restricted than may have been suggested by the Rising sign or by the Sun and Moon placements. This planet adds much stability to your nature, a serious side, if you will. A solid sense of self-worth may be slow to develop.
Pluto in the first house
Pluto positioned in first house results in an increased intensity to the personality and a more powerful will. Your personality is magnetic, and you often crave power, as the ego is very strong. You may have an expanded sense of initiative, but find it more difficult to work with people than your Ascendant suggested. This is because of the powerful and dominating tendencies in your nature. There is also a mystery here, as you are a difficult person to get to know. Conformity is never easy for you.
THE SECOND HOUSE . . . MATERIAL VALUES AND SECURITY
The second house relates to personal possessions and general prosperity. It deals with your sense of values and how you view your security. Factors associated with the second house may show how you acquire and how you spend your material resources. The house may also relate how important these assets are in your life.
Scorpio
Scorpio on the cusp of the second house denotes a tendency toward secretiveness regarding financial affairs. You may put much intense effort in managing such affairs. You do this in a private way and it's unlikely anyone will realize much about the situation, whether it is good or bad. Further more, you resent anyone prying into your business. There is an insecurity here that diminishes sharing tendencies and forces you to try to hold on to what you have with a tenacity and reserve. Rarely do you fail to get your money's worth. Despite your natural inherent possessiveness, with Pluto ruling the house of finances, there can be some major ups and downs in your financial life.
Uranus in the second house
Uranus resides in the second house denoting erratic behavior in this house of material affairs. This placement often shows recurring unforeseen circumstances upsetting financial affairs. You'll experience ups and downs in money conditions. A need for independence, in a financial sense, may prompt you to go into business for yourself. Whether you do or not, your income is not likely to be fixed and stable.
THE THIRD HOUSE . . . LEARNING AND COMMUNICATION
The third house of the chart concerns your thought processes and how you relate to others in your formative years; the early environment and early relationships. It deals with subjects such as writing, news, communication, speech and learning to deal with the world. Accordingly, it is associated with early education.
Sagittarius
Sagittarius influencing the third house suggests you are very talkative, expressing broad viewpoints with your very mobile mind. (Talkative? Well...not usually...but if I do get startd I usually end up rambling) The influence of Jupiter, the ruling planet of Sagittarius, suggests a very cheerful outlook on life, natural exuberance and optimism. You have a natural ability to communicate, especially important issues such as politics, education, and religion. Learning is very important to you, and you are likely to have set important long range goals in this regard. You love to travel and keep in touch with friends located in distant places. You believe in being well organized and prepared for whatever situation arises. You have an executive type of mind that files away details for use later. An excellent judge of character, your instincts rarely fail you.
Jupiter in the third house
Jupiter in the third house shows Jupiter plays an important part shaping a mentality that is optimistic, philosophic, and spiritually inclined. This expands the capacity for learning in the fields of education, philosophy, writing, publishing and communication. You are very fortunate in the educational opportunities that you receive early on. Your relationship with your brothers and sisters, and other relatives is very good, and beneficial to you long term.
THE FOURTH HOUSE . . . HOME AND BASE OF OPERATION
The fourth house of the chart is your base of operation; in a material sense, your home. In a more spiritual sense, this house relates to your soul. Psychological roots, including family or racial traditions, are among the affairs of this house. It is associated with real estate and property, or your home and your security.
Capricorn
When Capricorn influences the fourth house there is much responsibility in this house of home and family. With the planet Saturn ruling the home, issues of security can be of paramount importance. There is also ambition linked with this placement. You're likely to be very particular about the way your household is run, wanting everything to be efficiently organized and precisely placed. You dominate your home with a practical and no nonsense outlook. You are a strong disciplinarian, with strict, old-fashioned principles and a lofty code of ethics. You also display a solid sense of community involvement and never hesitate to accept responsibility in this regard. You are likely to take on increased responsibility in the last third of your life.
THE FIFTH HOUSE . . . RECREATION AND CREATIVENESS
The fifth house is the field of self-expression. This area shows effort put forth to distinguish yourself from others. It deals with your romantic affairs, procreation, your offspring, and with artistic endeavors, hobbies, books written, and other personal achievements. The fifth house also relates to those things in life that we enjoy doing; how you are entertained. Finally, relationships with children are described by this sector of the chart.
Pisces
The Pisces influence in the fifth house denotes a sense of frustration associated with creative endeavors, romances, and with your offspring. You may sometimes be disappointed and disillusioned in these matters. Yet you have a very strong need to be creative and to leave your mark on the world. You may dream about creating something so significant that you will be remembered for you efforts long after you're gone. You feel far greater powers than you can express in this regard. Raising children can be difficult and confusing. Sacrifices for children are likely to be required.
THE SIXTH HOUSE . . . WORK, DUTY AND SERVICE
The sixth house is the field of service. Subjects here revolve around work and health matters. Duties, practical responsibilities, and mundane tasks are affairs of this house, as are relations with employees and coworkers. Your degree of interest in health and fitness matters is likely to be shown here.
Aries
The Aries influence in the sixth house shows that you are a very hard working member of society. You are single minded in performing your duties, approaching every assignment with emotional intensity and determination. You have a tendency to lose yourself in your work. You may run into difficulties with coworkers and employees because of your critical nature, and because you are far too quick to pass judgment on them. They may complain because you work them too hard, but you work no one harder than you.
(That sounds quite true, also)
THE SEVENTH HOUSE . . . RELATIONSHIPS AND MARRIAGE
The seventh house is the field of relationships. This house, opposite the first (matters of the self), relates to the other people with whom you enter close association. It is your social consciousness and cooperation, or the lack of it. Contracts, including the marriage, and other relationships, adversary encounters and law suits, are housed here. Partnerships in business and in life are seventh house matters.
Aries
The Aries influence on the seventh house denotes a pairing with someone expressing assertiveness. It's strange that such an easygoing person is attracted to partners that are energetic, aggressive, sexy, innovative, and pioneering. It is probably good for you to have the kind of partner that is not deterred by obstacles. Someone to do the fighting for you. Yet this doesn't mean you are likely to be dominated in the process. When your sense of justice is offended, you don't take it sitting down. Oddly enough, as much as you love harmony and peace, conflict may mark many of your relationships, perhaps including your marriage(s). You have a love of peace and harmony, but when you are crossed, you find a way to get even. You try to rule the roost. To work effectively with you, one must live up to your expectations and meet you half way.
(Huh? I'm totally lost on this one...oh well)
THE EIGHTH HOUSE . . . NEEDS, SECRETS, JOINT RESOURCES
The eighth house is the field of joint resources. This house deals with possessions that are not earned by you, but obtained through relationships or inheritance. It also involves funds belonging to others such as taxes, corporate money, insurance, and the stock market. It addresses matters of generation, regeneration, research and investigation. The eighth house relates to interests in the mysteries of life.
Taurus
Taurus influencing the eighth house suggests a good head for business and a sense for sound investments. There is a tendency to marry for money or security, as well as for love. Cooperation in joint relationships may be lacking and there is a personal attachment to possessions, instead of a spirit of sharing. There may be ups and downs in the financial affairs, but eventually matters turn out profitably. Your very pleasant disposition serves you well in getting what you want out of life.
THE NINTH HOUSE . . . TRAVEL, RELIGION, PHILOSOPHY
The ninth house is the field of long range goals, planning and long distance travel. Matters of profound mental interest, including religion, philosophy and higher education are ninth house affairs. Also associated with the ninth are journeys to far off places and searches for new horizons, both physically and mentally.
Gemini
The Gemini influence in this house shows that serious matters such as philosophy and religion attract your interest in a passing way. They must be presented with reason, common sense, and logic. (Yup!) This placement shows mental restlessness and the need for constant activity or stimulation. You have much curiosity about life and about people. You especially enjoy travel mostly for sake of meeting and observing different people and places. (Definitely!) You may not be the most profound thinker around, but you're never at a loss for words. You can hold your own mentally in most crowds.
Sun in the ninth house
The Sun in the ninth house is a placement suggesting that your focus may be on idealistic rather than the practical side of affairs. A ninth house Sun often produces the farseeing thinker who expresses ideas on a broad level. You should have lofty and noble motives, but the sense of practicality may at times be lacking. There may be serious interests in spiritual and religious pursuits. Law, religion and philosophy are subject of natural interest. The intuitive mind is highly developed. Your high ideals can be carried too far at times. If you fail to keep these under control, you can become fanatical about them. This can be a very outgoing position, for once you are convinced you have the answers to the weighty questions attracting your concern, you will want to share your insights with all that will listen. The ninth house Sun likewise has a desire to cover distances physically. There is a strong desire for exploration and travel, for knowing first hand and understanding foreign culture and viewpoints.
Sun conjunct Venus
A conjunction of the Sun and Venus shows a more cheerful and optimistic person than your chart may otherwise foretell. There is receptivity to fun and social events. The physical appearance is enhanced, although this can bring some narcissist tendencies as a side effect. You have a strong inner need for popularity, and you sincerely want people to like you. You are a good listener, (Yup!) and you truly enjoy most of the people with whom you associate. In any sign, this aspect allows you to be more easygoing, and less competitive and combative.
Sun trine Mars
A trine formed between the Sun and Mars strengthens your vitality, self-confidence, and will power. You can function at high energy levels for prolonged periods. You enjoy the challenge of any difficult task. Although firm in thought, you readily accept the opinions of others and you relate in a polished way, never threatening others. You know that you can succeed in whatever you set out to do without resorting to deception or dishonorable tactics. You accept people for what they are and expect them to do the same with you. While you can act impulsively at times, in general you plan actions efficiently and purposely. You take on life's problems without hesitancy and handle most situations with little fanfare or publicity. Your life is not uneventful, but you can cope without apparent difficulty.
Sun trine Saturn
A trine formed between the Sun and Saturn makes it easy for you to accept and handle responsibility. Difficult times in your life result in minimal struggle. You inherently know how to react to problems and take advantage of counteracting opportunities. You may have ambitions, but these are not very strong. Most of the time you attain success by doing what is right, when the time is right. Somehow you bring a sense of stability to every situation. Life is not always a basket of roses, and sometimes you get depressed and deflated. Yet you can always get reorganized and back on the right track.
Sun opposed Jupiter
The opposition of the Sun and Jupiter suggests an over-expanded ego. Jupiter deals with judgment, and with this aspect, the drive for significance is subject to being overemphasized. There is often a tendency toward extravagance and pretension. You can have too much optimism, and promise more than you can deliver. There is a continuous need to control urges to enter grandiose schemes and avoid ostentatious manners. The strength of this aspect lies in your ability to apply much charm to gain the approval of those you deal with in your daily affairs. There is often much talent and creativity associated with this aspect.
Venus in the ninth house
Venus in the ninth house makes this planet closely associated with the affairs of this sector of higher learning, travel, and philosophical thinking. This placement shows that pleasure is derived from study of philosophy, religion, and art. You are an intuitive person and you appreciate many of the finer things in life. A ninth house Venus suggests lengthy pleasure trips, which may provide the opportunity for important social contacts and romantic encounters. Strong attachments may develop with persons from foreign countries, different races, cultures, or religions.
Venus square Pluto
A square forms between Venus and Pluto suggesting that your emotional life is subject to many problems. Many of these relate to sex. This aspect causes intense emotional and sexual involvements, and sometimes this can be with very debasing influences. In extreme cases, this aspect shows involvement with prostitution or other sex related crimes or rituals.(Gosh...well, I just hope I don't end up being one of those extreme cases!) Sexual passions are hard to control and properly direct, and romantic ties are in some way fated. It may be any benefit you receive is always accompanied with some negative side effect. What you want and seek is often not what you need, and obtaining the objective or object creates ill effects. Life is full of upheavals and upsets in domestic and professional affairs. There is a need to be more honest and less patronizing with people. Don't make promises unless you intend to keep them. This aspect must be controlled by the free will.
Venus trine Mars
The trine from Venus to Mars shows that you are especially warm, affectionate, and congenial. ( Yup - dat's me!) You have a happy disposition and look for the better qualities in the people with whom you relate. You get along well with others because you don't make undue demands and your willingness to compromise often brings the concessions you want. Public relations is a good field for you to seek employment. With your congenial disposition, you can handle the most inflexible individual you might meet in carrying out your duties. A fun-loving person at heart, you enjoy a good time. You may run into problems with romantic partners who will assume by your nature that your sexual attitudes are promiscuous. This is probably not so. This placement often provides talent in music, art, or drama. It gives the will and energy to bring such talent to expression.
THE TENTH HOUSE . . . CAREER, PRESTIGE, REPUTATION

There is a restlessness causing many changes, or at least ups and downs, in your professional life. It is important for you to feel responsible and respectable. You are acutely sensitive about your reputation and your standing in your environment. This placement often produces a career that in some sense caters to the public. You are likely to have a good feel on the pulse of public whims and desires.
Mercury in the tenth house
Mercury positioned in the tenth house produces an association with this house of personal attainment. This position suggests you possess excellent speaking and writing abilities (Ido? Oh...Spiffy) that can be used effectively in your career and in attaining professional recognition. Your career is important to you, and your strategy in this regard has to be carefully planned, including education and preparation to attain your goals. The benefit of Mercury here is the ability to communicate ideas to the public; expertise in speech making, publishing, and political strategy, are often found.
Mercury conjunct Venus
The conjunction of Mercury and Venus shows an affable manner and social grace. You can get along with most people because you understand the art of compromise. This doesn't mean that you always give in, but just that you try to be fair and don't offend people without a good reason. You know how to express your opinions with skill and color, and without being argumentative. You are refined in your presentations and you usually see to it that your position is well documented.
(Yup, yup, yup!!!)
Mercury square Saturn
The square between Mercury and Saturn suggests mental restraint and strong ties to traditional ways of thinking. Mental processes are on the pessimistic side. You worry too much, often about unimportant details. (Do not!! Well...maybe...ok...fine, I admit it;) I do) You have much concern about succeeding or failing to succeed. Your education may have been rigidly disciplined and conforming to traditional doctrine. There is a tendency because of this, to uphold the established order and resist change.
Mercury square Pluto
The square aspect between Mercury and Pluto produces a clear mental view of the realities of any given situation. Your speech and thought patterns can sometimes be harsh, so much so that you may at times seem insensitive. It is truly difficult for people to know how you will react, so some may avoid getting close to you. This also shows a tendency toward secrecy, especially when you are around people you don't trust. You have a need to shape the ideas of others to conform with your views.
THE ELEVENTH HOUSE . . . FRIENDS, ASSOCIATIONS, IDEALS
The eleventh house is associated with the achievement toward goals and objectives. Often it is called the house of hopes and wishes. Humanitarian and philanthropic enterprises, clubs, groups, associations, and the sharing of ideals is emphasized here. People that help you, friends, connections and influence matters relate to this house.
Virgo
The Virgo influence in the eleventh house suggests a readiness to serve close friends. Despite a certain aloofness, you work especially hard for the welfare of companions. You can be content to defer to the will of the majority in groups in which you function. You're never altogether comfortable in a crowd, and you don't crave a wide circle of friends. At times, you can be sharply critical of your associates.
(Wow, that's like got me written all over it)
THE TWELFTH HOUSE . . . HIDDEN, SUBCONSCIOUS ISSUES
The twelfth house is the field of the subconscious mind, of problems stemming from unseen causes, and limitations. This area relates to behind the scene maneuvering, emotional problems, secrets, deceptions, and problem areas to overcome. This house gets away from the mainstream of life, and lets the soul step back and take a look at the world. On the mundane level, the twelfth is the house that takes individuals away from everyday life. Its associations include prisons, hospitals, and other institutions that would remove one from society.
Libra
The Libra influence in the twelfth house suggests that much of the time you are a loner with some apprehensions regarding reliance on others. Your partnership arrangements, including the marriage, may be fated in some way. For no discernible reason, acting in collaboration with others, rarely works out well for you. The necessary lesson in this house is cooperation and the development of a more outgoing personality.
Moon in the twelfth house
The Moon in the twelfth house projects its influence in this sector of the chart. This placement gives a love of introspection and a need for periodic retirement from the confusion and business of the world in general. This placement is going to cause you to feel emotionally isolated from others since it is difficult for you to find emotional stability in other people. You are extremely impressionable and respond to subtle influences of those around you. With such a strong sense of charity, a release is needed to in some way be able to help others. There is opportunity for success in work within large institutions such as hospitals, the government, or large corporations, and usually for the public welfare. While you are subject to emotional chaos, you have serious difficulty expressing your emotions. The twelfth house Moon denotes a need for security that is often fulfilled though withdrawal.
Moon conjunct Pluto
The conjunction of the Moon and Pluto produces an intense romantic nature. You seek relationships with those who feel as deeply and as tenaciously as you do. You are a very possessive and demanding person, rarely impulsive or casual. It's hard to satisfy your emotional needs for the perfect relationship because you are so idealistic and demanding. These traits often extend to friendships, as well. Because of this your friends are few but extremely close. You are a hard person to live with because you require so much of those to whom you are near. You can be tyrannical and alienating, at times.
Moon sextile Neptune
The sextile aspect between the Moon and Neptune shows such a vivid imagination that you may possess psychic potentials. Your hunches, that are often accurate, may stem from an unconscious prompting connected to this placement. There is a tendency to idealize and sometimes fool yourself, confusing the real and the imagined.
Moon square Mercury

Irrational decisions place you at odds with people sometimes, and you have the feeling that you're being treated unfairly when this may not be the case. You dwell on trivial personal matters and may have a real sense of insecurity. You can communicate well with those that are very close to you. Yet your peer group outside the family can be a problem with which you must deal before you can achieve success. Avoid the tendency to discredit the ideas of others when they disagree with your ideas or challenge you. Try to evaluate the ideas of others in an objective and quiet manner.
Moon square Venus
The square formed between the Moon and Venus shows you are apprehensive about forming close emotional ties because of the responsibility they bring. Something in your upbringing or experiences makes it hard for you to admit your feelings. This aspect doesn't make you reject companionship, but instead you form connections that are not desirable or for some reason not workable. It may be preferable for you to be independent for some time until you have learned to understand people and have an accurate sense of their motives. A high degree of emotionalism and sentimentality must be understood and overcome before entering into a binding commitment.
This concludes your natal chart reading.
