JO DEE MESSINA On June 12; Erin's first night at Daddy and Cindy's house, she went to the Old Town Alexandria Waterfront Festival. We looked at all of the craft booths and ate supper at the fair. Country Singer, Jo Dee Messina was that nights main attraction. Erin watched almost the whole concert. She was close to the stage but still had a hard time seeing the stage. Daddy and or Cindy held her up so she could see. She waved to Jo Dee Messina. Erin's favorite song that Jo Dee sang was "I'm Alright".
FAITH HILL Next was the Literacy Campaign concert on the Ellipse in Washington, DC on Tuesday, June 30, 1998. Country Artist Faith Hill was a special guest sponsored by WMZQ 98.7 FM and 7-11 stores. Erin and Cindy went early so they could get a good seat for the free show. They found a spot front row center. While they were waiting for the show to start, Erin wrote Faith a letter and drew her a picture. Faith came out of her trailer to walk over to a press conference for the news. Erin held up her letter for Faith. Faith saw her holding the letter and waving, so she left her entourage and came over to us. She took the letter from Erin and said "Thank you Sweetheart!" She held the letter for the entire press conference. Later when the show started Faith recognized Erin in the audience and smiled and waved to her. It began to rain so the show ended early.
HANSON
Then on July 2, 1998, Erin went to her very first official concert at the Nissan Pavilion to see Hanson. She wore her Hanson T-shirt and platform sneakers.
Erin, Cindy and Omie had a picnic before the show. Erin's favorite member of the band is the keyboardist; Taylor. She thinks he is really cute. When the band came out , she screamed with the best of them. She danced and sang along with the music. Omie got Erin a concert program, a Hanson necklace and a huge wall poster. She also kept her ticket stub. She had a great time!
