Unicornia: Gossip Unicorns
Unicornia Episode One

    "Hello. My name is Lady Opal Star. Formerly Princess Opal Star. About one year ago I sacrificed my royal Princess Pony title in

the Royal Paradise of Jewel Desert to be with the Unicorns, my type. I am a Unicorn. Most of the Unicorns would say 'Duh!' right

about now.

    "But I now regret what I have done. Now that I am here, I cannot leave; Unicornia Law One: Article Three, or the Privacy Act. I

cannot speak with non Unicorns; Unicornia Law One: Article Two, or the Silence Act. And we aren't allowed to speak of other

parts of Ponyland; Unicornia Law One: Article One, or the Order.

    "Why all these rules and laws? And who in their right mind would enforce such ridiculous things? Three small words: the gossip

queens. Actually, three Unicorns, I should say. Skyflier, Fizzy, and Moonstone.

    "Along with gossip, there is always secrets. It seems the majority of the Unicornia residents' lives revolve around gossip and

secrets!

    "But not everyone is that way. I teach at the Li'l Squeakers School for Babies, and I double at the University.

    "Enough about me and this dull life I now live. I do not know why I am talking to myself, nobody is listening, especially not a

river," I was saying.

    "I'm listening!" a cheery voice called from behind me.

    "Yipes!" I shrieked, falling into the Unicorn's Water, the river that runs through Unicornia.

    "Need some help? You okay?" asked a grinning Silver Bangle, my neighbor.

    I was now a soaking mess. "No, I'm perfectly fine and soaking wet you clown!"

    "Clown? If anybody here is a clown it's me and Flowerchild here!" cried an ever hyper and cheerful Disco Ball.

    These were the new girls. Well, three of them. They were born after Unicorn was founded. Well, so was I, but I am not the

"newest." Unicornia's newest newcomer would be Starhopper, the Sparkle Pony from Star Castle. Nobody knows what she's

doing here, when she is here. She leaves from time to time, and I am the only one who knows. Only once has Fizzy almost found

out she has been leaving.

    ". . . so we saw you over and we thought we'd say hi and now you're off in la la land," Flowerchild was saying.

    "I'm sorry, could you repeat that?" I asked.

    Flowerchild sighed. "As I was saying, we were going to ask Star Night and Crystyl Tear if they wanted to have a picnic in the

forest. But you know Crystyl. She never seems to want to do anything. She's the most secretive of all the Unicorns here!"

    "Don't forget that Starhopper," a new voice piped in.

    How long has Fizzy been listening? I wondered, looking over at the green Unicorn and company. And of course, here's the

other two gossip queens. How could such rivals be such good friends?

    "Oh Fizzy! I got the scoop on Sunbeam! She has been wandering past Unicornia territory!" cried Moonstone.

    "So has Moondancer!" yelped Skyflier.

    "Hey, Celestial Lane is my  ground!" argued Fizzy.

    "Well I have dirt on Dis - oh! Hi, uh, er, Disco Ball!" Moonstone said gritting her teeth.

    "What did you say Moonstone?" Disco Ball said, advancing toward Moonstone.

    "She says that you've been violating Article Three Unicornia Law One! And you know what the punishment is for that!" cried

Skyflier gleefully.

    "I don't like what you three are saying about me and other Unis! So back off!" Disco Ball growled with a hard, sharp tone to her

otherwise sweet voice.

    Now I would not want to be her right now. The next thing I know, a giant flamewar will erupt, I thought.

    "How dare you tell us what to do!" shouted Fizzy.

    "Hey don't yell at her! She's standing up with a good cause for innocent Unicorns!" Flowerchild defended her sister.

    Oh boy. Here it comes.

    "We have proof on this information!" screeched Moonstone.

    "What proof?" I asked, trying to stay calm.

    "Well, um, the way Moondancer found Baby Sparkler! And I think Starhopper isn't here all the time!" retorted Moonstone.

    "I'll give you proof of something!" Silver Bangle shouted, about to lunge at Moonstone.

    "QUIET!!" I shouted.

    And everyone was. Fizzy started to trot away. Bangle backed off. Sky was silent. And everyone was listening. Except Fizzy, of

course.

    "Stop arguing! It's not going to do any body any good!" I declared.

    Flowerchild spoke up. "Lady Opal Star is right. We should stop bickering, but all of that gossiping lies should stop too!"

    Hear hear to that! I thought. Amazing. All in a moment of gossip, friends can become enemies.

    Hopefully, it would never come down to that.
