First Generation Tags
The First generation tags were placed on the 9 oringinal beanies in 1993 and 1994. These tags do not open like a book. They also do not have a yellow star on them. The ty is in skinny bubble letters. On the other side you will find the beanies name and poem. Because a lot of the first generation tags were taken off, the first generation tag is worth more.

Fifth Generation Tags
The latest swing tag from ty is the fifth generation tag. A few people have trouble telling the difference between the fourth generation and fifth generation tag. Because they are so identical. The only difference is that the birthday is spelled out and the website is spelled www.ty.com 1
