With offices in Brandon and Neepawa, Paterson Ross is a full-service Western Manitoba law firm.
Although various name changes have occurred over the years, the firm traces its roots in Brandon to the late 1950's and in Neepawa to the turn of the century.

Doug Paterson, Q.C. was called to the bar in 1973 and was appointed Queens Counsel in 1985. His practice areas include civil litigation, real estate, estates, corporate and commercial and administrative law. Doug has extensive experience in insurance litigation and bodily injury claims. Outside interests over the years have been hockey, Big Brothers, Kinsmen, Y.M.C.A., school trustee, and cross-country skiing as well as being on the board of the Art Gallery of Western Manitoba.
Darwyn Ross was called to the bar in 1987. His active practice areas are family, civil and criminal litigation, real estate, child protection matters, and oil and gas. Darwyn has been active in baseball, hockey, Kinsmen, Brandon University, Centennial Library Arts Centre, Egre Competition, Downtown Business Improvement Area, Career Symposium, and the Canada Summer Games.
Robert (Bob) Patterson was called to the bar in 1993. His areas of interest are civil litigation, family law, real estate, corporate and commercial, estates as well as criminal law. Outside the office, he plays and coaches hockey, is President of the Western Manitoba Bar Association, Secretary of the Westman Estate Planning Council, Legal Counsel and Board Member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Boys and Girls Clubs of Brandon, Inc., participates with organization such as the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba, Canada Summer Games the Brandon Humane Society and is active in politics.
David Cowie recently joined our firm. He received his call in 1995 and is interested in civil; criminal; and family litigation. David articled with legal aid and practiced a year with them. Hockey, biking, cross-country skiing and the arts interest David beyond the law.
Partners and staff are very pleased to announce that Sid Laviolette has joined their Neepawa office as a graduate student-at-law. He received his law degree at the University of Manitoba Convocation held May 29, 1997. His articles of clerkship are for one year, after which he will be called to the bar. Prior to his law studies, Sid was a registered securities broker for 12 years with Richardson Securities, Burns Fry and Midland Walwyn in Winnipeg.
