Your client is going to be curious about you and your services, so references should be provided to your customer so they can determine the advantages of using your service. Have your customers complete a customer satisfaction form for each job you complete, and keep that information with you when selling your services to a new client. Encourage your clients to link back to your page, your creation could lead to additional work through your client's page guests. Ask if they are satisfied and if they would mind posting a statement regarding the web publishing somewhere on their page, many will respond positively if they are impressed by the work you've done. If you are just starting out and have not established any customers, try volunteering through one of the free hosting areas to build a page for someone just to get you started. You may be fortunate enough to find paying customers before having many posted examples, but most would prefer to see references and examples before engaging your services. Before you go flaunting your work, make certain that your page is completely functional. Many aspiring web publisher has posted a page with broken images, bad links, missing tags, and poor design and layout... nothing will work faster to discredit your abilities than to post a page with errors. Your customer is paying for and expects perfection! Never deliver a page with errors, check every link and image twice. CAUTION! - Do not use embedded tables or frames if you are not thoroughly adept in closing all table tags and targeting the correct frame. Before using these skills take the time to learn how they are achieved properly. |
