At the top of this page is an advertisement for the Buck Rogers XZ-35 Rocket Pistol by Daisy. The space weapon was issued in 1935 and was 7 1/2" long with a black finish and a cocking handle. Several of the pistols still exist today that have the "pop" when fired. No caps are necessary. As with all collectibles, always buy the best you can find and afford. Good luck finding one at 50 cents.
Captain Video Rocket Pendant/Ring
At the right is a Captain Video Rocket Pendant/Ring from the 1950s. A complete example will include a glow-in-the-dark portrait of Captain Video. A magnifying glass and a whistle are also included. These are expensive in near-mint condition. As with all collectibles, always buy the best you can afford.
"What are radio premiums?", you ask. To make a television or radio show like The Lone Ranger, Radio Orphan Annie, Jack Armstrong, or Captain Video more exciting for listeners, radio premiums and radio premium rings were issued by the show's sponsers, either free or for boxtops and a coin or two; and sometimes the radio premiums were licenced to stores for sale. You'll see some spectacular examples of radio premiums and collectible radio premium rings on the pages to follow. We hope this will help you to understand why these items are so highly saught after by collectors today.
