Virtual Private Networking Project Manager 2000 - 2001
· Managed cross-functional project team of Central IT and Strategic Business members, responsible for delivery of VPN solutions for telecommuters, Road Warriors, SOHOs, Intranet sites, and Business Partners, in order to increase productivity, and reduce product development time and costs. Solution spanned a variety of operating systems and communications technologies (such as xDSL, cable modem, Wireless, dialup).
· As project leader, I provided communications and project updates to management, project stakeholders, and project team members.
· Served as liaison between Strategic Business contacts within TI and the Central IT group, involved in Remote Access Development projects for the businesses.
· Held additional responsibility as liaison between TI and telecom service providers, such as SBC, Verizon, MCI/Worldcom/UUNET, AT&T for new service and monthly service-delivery performance reviews.
· Developed processes for end user request/approval cycle to use Remote Access Solutions into the TI network.
Remote Access Development Team Leader 1998– 2000

Managed team that evaluated, provisioned and administered various
Remote Access Technologies used for accessing the TI network, which required a
working knowledge of Cisco-Access Servers their software.

Managed ADSL pilots with SBC and
Verizon, testing the viability of a private VPN solution, giving internal
customers direct home-to-TI connections.
These pilots helped support product development for design engineering
groups.

Migrated users from obsolete Legacy dial access platform to
standards-based strategic dialup platform, as part of a larger project that
migrated the

Managed team that administered 300+ Unix-based terminal controllers,
providing LAN and dialup access to

Project Team Leader 1993
– 1996
·
Managed project team responsible for conversion of terminal controllers
in global SNA network to an IP protocol, which also involved consolidating the
SNA network from 23 sites into one Megacenter.
Project affected over 30,000 workstations/network endpoints. All 23 site
conversions were successful, with no backout plans having to be implemented.
