have developed a broad base of knowledge and experience in project management,

studies, implementation and problem solving.
Some of this experience covers voice/data/video networks, CCTV, security
systems, CPM, accounting, construction, inventory, purchasing, financial,
payroll, human resources, hotel and restaurant management, manufacturing (ERP),
servicing, automotive, transportation, wholesale, retail, POS, elections,
direct mail, aviation, veterinary pharmaceutical, medical, time management,
relocation management, steel mill, education, food services, oil and gas,
engineering, FBOs and government. Prior experience as an MIS Director and a programmer/analyst, with
experience in over 65 industries and over 150 applications.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Science Center,
Macao, China Project
Manager 8/03
– Present
Contracted to manage all aspects of the design of the
network and telecommunications infrastructure, including facilities design,
HVAC, UPS, physical and data security, and data backup for a new science
center, museum and planetarium complex to be constructed in Macao, China. Campus will include meeting and conference
rooms seating 500 each, laboratories for 100 students and tenant office space.
Hope Billing Services, Arlington,
TX Project Director 1/03 – 4/03
Contracted to research and
document HIPAA rules and regulations, develop and document Policies and
Procedures for a medical billing services company. Performed software
requirements analysis.
City & County of San Francisco Project Director 1/02 – 4/02
Contracted to design
voice/data/video networks, cabling and distribution, including connectivity to
city’s SONET ring, HVAC and power requirements, for new fourteen-story
administration building and data center scheduled to begin construction in
fourth quarter of 2002. This was a
part time (10 hours per week) project being performed from home. Beginning first quarter of 2003, I was
scheduled to be on-site in San Francisco and
manage the cabling and installation of data, voice and video network
implementation. This project was put on
hold due to city budget deficits.
General Motors, Detroit,
MI Project
Manager 9/00
– 8/01
Recruited by Siemens and contracted to AT&T to
manage the conversion of the General Motors North American Wide Area Network
(WAN) being supported by EDS to a private General Motors supported WAN. Interfacing with company officials and technical personnel from
General Motors, EDS and AT&T.
Successfully supervised the design, configuration,
scheduling, ordering of Cisco equipment and circuits and the implementation of
approximately 25 General Motors "campus" locations and approximately
700 branch locations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico plus the connectivity from the Detroit Michigan area MAN to locations worldwide.
Successfully managed the design, planning,
rightsizing, HVAC & UPS, site surveys and site preparation at each location
and the detailed scheduling of equipment orders, circuit orders, staging,
installation, test and turn-up and cutover, critical to the success of the
project. Performed
site surveys and interviews for the campus locations.
City & County of San Francisco Project Director 3/98 – 8/00
Contracted by Siemens ICN to
Project Direct the Telecommunications Infrastructure and Network Deployment for
the seismic upgrade of the historic San Francisco City Hall. Successfully directed the network and cabling design,
SystiMax Cable Management, data center design and build out, HVAC and UPS
configuration, coordination of cabling and wiring sub-contractors, supervising
and monitoring ordering, receiving, staging, testing, shipping and installation
of Cisco network equipment, on an active construction site. Performed extensive
departmental interviews to determine current and future for servers, bandwidth,
software, and environment requirements. Responsibilities included Scheduling, Budgeting,
Documentation, Subcontractor Coordination, Change Orders, RFI's, and Submittal
Processing. Managed
all aspects of design, installation and testing of cabling and voice/data/video
networks.
Worked closely with the general
contractor, architects, electrical contractors, city project management,
historical society, network designers, department managers and team leaders. Knowledge of contracts, blueprints, construction and industry standards required. Closely monitored timelines to insure
scheduled project completion, coordinated and managed the overnight move-in of
1200 city employees in 25 departments and all servers, scheduled training and
conducted tours for department managers.
Successfully designed the network and cable plant,
creating a “smart building” of a national historical landmark, constructed in
1912, while working with the National Historic Society to conserve the
historical integrity of the building.
This project involved the installation of 2400 strands of multi and
single mode fiber and 6400 copper pulls.
The project also included design and installation of two broadcast
studios for the city’s cable TV channel, audio/video for closed circuit
television, security cameras, silent alarms, “smart signs”, and news media
junctions. The audio and video for the
Supervisor’s chambers and 5 hearing rooms was state-of-the-art and more
sophisticated than the U.S. Senate’s system. The Cisco network was monitored by
Sun System using HP OpenView. While
video conferencing was not part of the project, a video-conference link was
established with the White House with only 40 minutes notice. Budget for network and cabling exceeded
$9M.
The City Hall network is a show place of state of the
art technology; which prompted several municipalities, plus Norwegian and
Danish MIS delegations visiting the states to request tours of the facilities.
City of Milpitas,
California Project Director 8/98 – 5/99
Directed the design, installation
and implementation of the City’s fiber optic ATM, connecting the City Hall,
Department of Public Works, and several Fire Stations.
ADT Security Systems, Boca
Raton, FL Project

Managed the design, development
and simultaneous implementation of 22 Oracle instances, an unprecedented
endeavor that required at least 65% of my time. Managed over 100 culturally
diverse, developer consultants.
Interviewed, hired and managed temporary and permanent software
developers, NT and UNIX administrators.
Established the Network Operation Center and Call
Center Service Desk and managed the implementation of Remedy and Tivoli. Managed the planning and build out of fault
tolerant, redundant data backup and recovery server facilities and
approximately 200 local offices connected by a Wide Area Network. Created all administrative
procedures for Network Services Group.
Established and managed WAN/Networking team. Established and managed Desktop/PC Services
team and coordinated all Service Requests and assigned responsibilities. Managed Facilities. Wrote Operational Policies
and Procedures for the Network Services Group and ADT.
ADT Security Systems, Parsippany, NJ Project Manager 6/96 – 1/97
Project Manager responsible for
the Mainframe Transformation Outsourcing team at ADT Security Systems, a major
service and distribution company.
The project, a $35 million Transformation Outsourcing migration of the
Mainframe Financial and Manufacturing applications coupled with the AS/400
Financial applications. Responsibilities
included the assimilation of all legacy documentation analysis performed by
eight MCI Systemhouse senior analyst, flow charted and assembled all interface
coordination to determine actual process flow, input-output and special
processing requirements among application modules. Maintained release versions and assembled
into deliverable.

multiple projects of various sizes and complexities to successful completion. The largest project involved the design,
scheduling, implementation and funding management of an Intranet/Internet
presence involving over 6,000 workstations across the country. Ninety-five percent of the workstations required
upgrades to Windows ’95 minimum configuration in over 1,600 offices nationally
and internationally. Developed
a plan for the assignment and implementation of IP addresses, installation of
software, and hardware upgrades for remote locations. Managed the design and
implementation of Interactive Voice Response and Automated Call Distribution
systems for several departments. Managed hardware and
software technology for the Treasury Department, involving the
exchange/investment of hundreds of millions of dollars a day.

Successfully developed a systems
finance and retail/wholesale sales architecture for precision tool
distribution. Total package
integration and reporting capabilities were designed around the needs of an
ever-changing product line. Analyses of
office and business procedures with recommendations for changes were

the training of end users. Consulted on
business and office procedures; trained users; continue to provide maintenance
and technical support for more than ten years.

manager of an eight-person team contracted to write credit package for an IBM
client company specializing in the financing of tractor-trailer units. Interfaced with IBM and
client in the design and development of database and software. Supervised PowerBuilder

Successfully managed the
reengineering and automation project of the corporate environment and the
development of a paperless back office and point-of-sale system for all
corporate owned restaurants.
Responsible for the technical design and implementation of the store
based back office data collection system, day-to-day management, development,
scheduling and client management interface.
Interviewed, selected and hired development teams. Interfaced
between corporate reengineering team and the development team. Managed the analysis of
project applications and specifications; monitored project progress and
assigned resources as necessary. Successfully developed forms imaging
system to eliminate paperwork and provide digital archiving. The back office system as implemented was
written in Microsoft Access and consists of approximately 4,000 objects and
500,000 lines of code, featured labor management including hiring, firing,
benefits administration, imaging of employment forms, and management of
scheduling and workflow. The system also
provides electronic purchase order placement along with a complete perpetual
inventory system, sales recording and reporting. An X.25 frame relay Wide Area Network was
established to allow instant communication between corporate, store locations,
and vendor locations. Optimized credit card processing to reduce associated
processing fees at an annual saving in excess of $1M.
