EXPERIENCE
05/98 –
10/02 -- Consultant at Perot Systems
Functioned
as the Y2K Project Lead. Performed all the initial Y2K analysis in
preparation of the conversion of the four Tenet Health Care Systems and later
converted all four as a one man project. Converted of 250+
COBOL programs to COBOL II and later, after Y2K, to COBOL MVS/390 LE.
Authored documents to address JCL standardization and wrote up the SPECS for
the Team to make the necessary modifications. Investigated and implemented a
plan to migrate all four applications to ENDEVOR from the manual PDS system. Manually reverse engineered logic to replace lost and missing COBOL
source. Set up testing procedures, customized JCL and test data for all
the Unit and System tests that were conducted. Authored COBOL conversion
programs to enable In House Report Bundling to covert to XP-Deliver. Performed application
maintenance, production support, application system design and implementation.
I set up a
dedicated test environment which included all the necessary documentation to be
utilized by team members in order to conduct testing scenarios. The test script
gave team members the advantage to
commence at various points in order to mimic the production cycle for a
specific day or even pin point a day from months gone by.
Worked
on special projects outside of our DSS Support Team for other groups including
the IMMS team, which support the IDMS and COBOL II Online / Batch applications,
and the Payroll GENYSYS Team.

of SYMBOLICS within all our applications job control. Worked
with Ernest and Young on the Streamline Purchasing System Redesign Project.
Served on the Planning Team working with representatives for Chase Bank to develop, code and implement Southwest’s Departmental Credit
Card Purchasing System. Performed all the Year 2000 Analysis and made the
necessary recommendations needed to complete the project. I served as the Y2K Team Lead. I establishing
company wide standards for writing scripts for the File Transfer Protocol ( FTP2). Provided 24 hour on call support. Worked with SYBASE Group
to Design and Implement the Financial Systems Data Warehousing facility.
Designed, coded and implemented a means to send E-mail from batch jobs under
MVS/ESA. Authored
justification documentation, working directly with Southwest’s Vice President.
of IS, a special software evaluation team I put
together and Computer Associates, coordinating the Airlines efforts in the
purchase of the CA-ENDEVOR Configuration Management Software.
I set up massive Y2K test scenarios along with
special JCL that allowed our team to focus on and parallel our production
environment.

08/96 -- Consultant at International
Paper Company
Design, coded and implemented the Inventory
Reconciliation systems applications. : Coordinated the company’s
conversion to a Standard Cost system working up the various interfaces with the
Cost Team’s data bases. The project team was represented by 17 members from
affected teams throughout the organization. Worked the
following special projects along with heading up the UNISYS On-call Support
team: Revamped CICS Internal Security.
Designed, coded
and implemented the Regional Distribution and
Consignment Inventory Management applications. Performed an in depth analysis
in order to convert over 200 files from IAM to VSAM. Put together a team to
established company wide JCL standards. Coordinated the
efforts in setting up three unique ENDEVOR environments. Analyzed,
authored and coded the DB2 standards ( JCL, ENDEVOR
Processor Groups etc. ) and electing to
use CAF. Headed up the team that provided Level II 24 hour
on-call support. Authored and conducted various user level training
sessions in order to bring the users up to speed in regard to application
software, new CICS apps, security and MVS utilities they utilized in order to
successfully and efficiently perform their daily tasks. We utilized File-Aid
and SAS for trouble shooting, as development tools, to correct production files
and extract data.
Set up a dedicated test / training environment in
order to train our new entry level users in their daily tasks.

new blocking factors within the programs, resulting in cutting the cycle
processing time from 15 hours to 4 hours. This savings eliminated the
need for a month end third shift computer operator.
