It really is the most amazing thing to see the development of a child
even before he comes out into the real world. His heartbeat, his tiny
hands and feet, right the way down to a yawn!! I'm not usually one to
wax rhapsodic but I always felt that this 'miracle of pregnancy' thing
was, not to put too fine a point on it, a trifle overrated. But then, as
the man said, you have to be there!
Those with a basic grounding in the analysis of foetal ultasound images will have a lot of fun.
However the rest of us will be looking at blurry grey blobs!
These are very definitely the earliest pictures we have our our little one!!
Scan 1 - 1 Our very first view. Tiny isn't it!
Scan 1 - 2 ...with hands...
Scan 1 - 3 ...and feet...
Scan 1 - 4 ...and a spine (well, it's a vertebrate thank God!).
Scan 1 - 5 The head still much smaller than the chest.
Scan 2 - 1 Definately a Caldow profile! You can just make out the heart as well (just!).
Scan 2 - 2 Head still winning!
Scan 3 - 1 Errrhhmmm...Did you want to know the sex???
Scan 3 - 2 All his own teeth as well!
Scan 3 - 3 ...but not if he keeps sucking his thumb like that!!
Scan 3 - 4 It's a close run thing now.
Scan 4 - 1 Our son exposing himself again (just like his Dad, eh!!).
Scan 4 - 2 And now the chest is winning the size race.
Scan 4 - 3 ET LIVES!!! | |
Scan 4 - 4 "What do you mean, 'He has his fathers nose' ???"
Scan 4 - 5 Nostrils! Cool!
Scan 4 - 6 Lips. They'll come in useful.
Scan 4 - 7 Are we boring you in there?.....Yawn!
Scan 4 - 8 Spine looks well formed still.
Scan 4 - 9 A pulsing aorta (ok it's a still image but use your imagination)...
Scan 4 - 10 ...and a beating heart. Both atria pounding away!
Scan 5 - 1 Big foot. Looks like he needs a bit of work on getting the proportions right.
Scan 5 - 2 Hands and fingers coming on a treat!
Scan 5 - 3 The chest is definately in the lead now. |
