Raw juice therapy is a Natural, drugless therapy proven by years of scientific research. It was established many years ago that people were literally starving because of vitamin and mineral deficiences even though they were eating "heavy meat and potato" meals every day.

In a day and age of devitalized foods it is especially important to know the laws of proper diet. Raw vegetable juices are the perfect food for both elderly people and those who have become ill through faulty living habits.

HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR NUTRITIONAL STATUS
How does a fitness-minded individual know if he is eating correctly. Until a person keeps a daily record of his eating habits, he probably does not realize how much of particular foods he consumes. In this respect, an individual is urged to record the details of his diet. He will need to record how much of each food he consumes for several days, both on weekdays and on weekends. This will make a person aware of the frequency of eating, the quality and quantity of the food consumed, and eating habits that need improvement.
Guidelines for how to evaluate present dietary habits are presented below:

1. Select a day that is representative of typical eating habits (usually a weekday).

2. Write down what is eaten at each meal and between meals.

3. Record food quantities in food groups columns. For example, if you ate the following breakfast:

                         1/2 cup orange juice
1 egg
2 slices buttered toast
1 cup milk

you would record as follows:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Milk Meat Fruits and Bread and Additional
Group Group Vegetables Cereal Foods
BREAKFAST 1 1 1 2 2
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Record the other foods consumed throughout the day in a similar manner on the Typical One-Day Meal Record Table. Transfer these total amounts to the Food Scoreboard that applies most closely to the daily energy requirements.

VEGETARIAN MAIN MEALS

Want to live longer? Become a vegetarian. Long term studies of Seventh Day Adventists who advocate vegetarianism show that their death rate from heart disease is half that of the national average. And one study, which followed 25,000 Adventists over a 21 year period, found that those men who did eat meat had the highest deathrate of all. As meat consumption rose, so to did their risk of developing diabetes and possibly certain forms of cancer. The fact that Adventists also shun cigarettes and alcohol no doubt plays a part in their better than average heart disease rate. But their no-meat--meaning low-fat--lifestyle definitely works greatly in their favor, according to the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, who reported the study. This doesn't mean that we have to shun meat forever to garner similar health benefits. But you could eat meat less often. After all, any healing diet should contain a fair share of vegetarian dishes. Why? Becuase fruits and vegetables, especially the rich green and yellow varieties, are storehouses of valuable nutrients that fight heart disease and cancer. They also provide the beneficial fiber so important to digestive health.

Dishes should emphasize grains, which provide protein often lacking in a meatless regimen. What's more, recipes containing lentils, other legumes, tofu, and beans are filling and hearty and are also protein-rich. Stir fry with garlic, nuts, onions, peppers (chili), and brown rice, are also protein-rich. All contain enough fiber and protein for satisfying fill-me-up power.

DEFINING OVERWEIGHT:
