I have a special interest in the Wilkes of Athens Co., Ohio who are shown above. My great grandfather, Fredric Arnold Wilkes, is on the far left. This picture taken about 1896 shows him with his sisters and parents, Charles Elbridge Wilkes and Ida Susan Alwes. Another sister and brother were born after this picture.
