My friend always took the chance of outdoor work and slipped away. He even make the chance by helping other people for the outdoor work. Get some time for a cup of coffee is no big deal, but going away for 2 hours or even whole day is kind of too much. Based on his pattern, he would have to do his own stuff every Wednesday, sometimes morning, sometime afternoon. I don't know what he was doing, but at least in my perception, he was cheating on his boss or his wife.

In business a brand or a name must be trustful.  If your boss don't trust you, how can you get promoted, how your salary will be raised. If your customer don't trust you, how they will buy your product.

Most employee never consider they are an entity providing service to a company, they never consider they are boss of their own, they never consider selling their product, selling their service, selling them to get more income, more salary.
