The horses have our utmost respect, their daily comfort, health, and well-being are our most important consideration. The stress free atmosphere at Equus Farms provides a comfortable environment in which horses flourish mentally, as well as physically. We feel that the show life is only a part of a horses life, we train our show horses from day one to be well suited for life after the show ring.
We also can train you and your horse just for pleasure, mountain, beach rides. Whatever you wish to do with your animal.
Todd Azevedo: Trainer
There are so many aspects to training a horse. You have to learn how to think ahead of the horses as well as to think like them. I find that just plain good common sense works the best. You have to know the horse from head to hoof. Each horse has special needs and we have to recognize that.
Training techniques are a constant learning process and the horses we are breeding today are better than ever. You have to keep up with that. Horses are more capable now than they've ever before. I am still learning something new everyday and that's what makes a good trainer.
You can walk into our barn and sense a wonderful attitude from the horses. This is a direct reflection to the way I train them. Our horses walk to their stall doors, ears up and picking at their halters ready to get out and go to work. I have been training and showing professionally since 1986 and I still get goose bumps when taking a horse into the show ring. I am excited and so is the horse. That's what makes it all worth while.
I have had the opportunity and pleasure of handling many of the greats in the Arabian Horse World. To name a few: Bey Shah, Khemosabi, Alladin, QR Excel, Barrister Rex and many many more.

Training Programs:Halter/Conditioning or Performance. During the first month of the training program, we conduct an extensive evaluation of your horse. Following the evaluation, we will advise you of your horses capabilities, and how long it will take to get your horse ready to show. Generally, halter horses require a minimum of three months training and performance horses require a minimum of six months training.
