BUSTER
Buster, there was no friend as great, my buddy, my best friend.

Saturday mornings will never be the same.  He gave love and only wanted food, shelter and soft stroking in return.  He loved my Jeep and Mom's Car.  It was Busters House.  When we would leave the house for a short while, we would always tell Buster to "guard the house."  It then became Busters House.

He was born October 30, 1990 and came to live with us just before Christmas 1990.  He went to sleep July 9, 2001. He's in Doggy Heaven now, but here on Earth he gave us nearly 11 years of some of the best years of our lives.

I still hear his tail wagging, as his way of smiling, as it hits the wall while lying there at the top the stairs where he would perch
watching for someone to drive by or come down the driveway or just waiting, waiting for someone to say
"there's my buddy."

We knew most every park and
school yard in the county.  For
every night after work I would
change into walking clothes, put
on my tennis shoes, as I would
always say, "let me get my
shoes" and his ears would perk
up and he would start for the
garage door.  He loved to ride.
Through these walks Buster
taught me how to live, how to
enjoy nature as he saw it and
hopefully the exercise has
provided me some longevity.

It's not easy dealing with those
last days but, let me tell you, all
of the memories of those nearly
11 years help ease some of the
pain.  In the forseeable future I
don't expect our pain to ever go
away but, at least I'm at peace
knowing his pain and suffering
of his last days are over.

To borrow a verse from a
famous song writer "your
candle's burned out long before
your legend ever will"  Buster
your legend will always be with
us.
