Comments: Hi. I was petticoated an entire summer at age 12 in the early 1950's and absolutely HATED it. Talk about dumb. Wish to hear from anyone who knows or wonders how it felt to be made to dress as a girl not by choice when 5&10 cent stores actually sold things for a nickel and both the ladies and girls departments had rack after rack after rack of petticoats. For those of you too young to remember the 50's look at black and white reruns of "I Love Lucy" or check out Donna Reed on "Leave it to Beaver" to see that grown women wore petticoats every day. Modesty is a sort of thing that has been lost for quite some time. I went to a high school that had no uniforms, so we all looked like a bunch of grunge a la Kurt Cobain style. (Yes, we were in Seattle.) When we would go up to Victoria or Vancouver on school trips I was always impressed by the schoolgirls neatly and prettily dressed in traditional British school uniforms.

Comments: Re: my favorite photo - This page is filled with outfits so I have to tell you which one of course. In this case however, I am imagining myself to be looking like the girl. She is blond in a red dress with a big blue bow on her pinafore. She has a present in her right hand and a candy cane in her left. The dress looks good too and I am in the process of making size conversions to make this from the pattern. The pattern number is 7789. Since then, I have also seen a very interesting dress on another page, (which I don't remember the URL of, but if you find it, it has very large type on the screen). The dress was filled with lace, and so of course I couldn't resist looking well at it and so I plan to add an ample amount of lace and ruffles to the dress I am making if it turns out right. (I have not yet done ny size conversions you see).I have been at Taffy's site before. It is constantly changing, (just like me I guess), and so I come back from time to time. I think I will sign up for that "update" notice so I will be e-mailed when the site has been updated. If you like what you've seen so far, you may wish to do the same. Regarding the "Constantly changing" - that reminded me of the catapiller who pulls inside of it's coccoon and emerges later as a butterfly. Gee - I could only hope.
Regarding the best link for anonymous e-mail - Hotmail is good for anonymous e-mail - just remember to put your username in the first name slot, and something in the last name slot, since that info is shown to the reader of your e-mail! You have to enter something into all of the fields BUT at the end of your entries, you can choose to be "Unlisted" which can be a great help if you wish to be anonymous. Joy
