This backpack from Ghee's was a very interesting project.  I purchased the fabric from Lucy's Fabrics, the pattern and all accessories from Ghee's--all at ETA in Dallas in February.  All the time I was making it, I thought it would not turn out good and I would probably never use it.  However, I found, as I do with so many projects, if I just keep working on it, it finally begins to take shape and interest.  Now I am so proud of it and can't wait to use it.  The fabric is an unusual woven metallic kind of mock alligator.  That's my best description!  The pattern is called the Bellino Bag which can be used as a purse with the strap zipped or a backpack by unzipping the strap. Linda McGehee is the consumant "bag lady."  I have been using her patterns for years.
