When spring comes around I start thinking about skirts and t-shirts.  I found this beautiful rayon border print with giraffes at Hancock's and knew it had to be a skirt.  I purchased the t-shirt from Sam's, and it is a wonderful 100% cotton, soft and comfy.  Puma is the brand.  I believe in naming names if I find something I think is an excellent buy.

I also purchased a long-sleeved t-shirt in a darker green, also 100% cotton by Puma.  I put a zipper in the front for a lightweight jacket.  There will be times even in summer when I will need long sleeves in a restaurant, convention, or cool evenings.  I do plan to embellish my jacket sometime, but not sure what I want to do yet. Instructions for adding a zipper to a t-shirt or sweatshirt are here on my site at:

The giraffe is from the Wild Kingdom disk, a Viking Designer series.  It is a plus hoop design which I combined for the D-1 hoop.  The background design is called "sunset" from Ann-the-gran's site.  The shirt is a soft celery green to match the green in the skirt, but I couldn't get the color right from the camera.

Here's a closeup of the border on the skirt.  I really fell for this one.  There are lots of animal prints in the stores now.  I would like to salute Hancock's for continuing to give us beautiful fabrics for garment sewing.  This 100% rayon is from Turkey.
