"Kitchen Coverups" was one of the projects in the HV Embroidery Club #6 by Robert Decker which we did in our local club. I adapted the toaster directions for my bread machine, since I don't have a toaster.
I purchased quilted fabric from Hancocks, and added piping which I made from a pastel striped fabric. All the designs in this project were for the plus hoop. I took words from two different ones and design from another to make it appropriate for my bread machine. It is supposed to mean "Fresh Bread Time."
Again I adapted the coffee pot cover to make one for my iced tea maker. No need to cover the coffee pot since it is used every day. I used the same fabric and piping, of course, as above on the bread machine.
The words came as part of the project, but I selected a free design I had downloaded for the teapot. I liked it better than the one in the project kit. I believe it was one of Mary Troutman's wonderful kitchen designs.
Part of this project was this Convenient Hand Towel. I used one of the elusive finger tip towels which I got at Wal-Mart last year. The directions for the fold-over fabric hanger are included in the project.
I used this design as is. I noticed a nice use of the new Digitizing Pro fills on the S&P shakers. My compliments to the digitizer. Remember to use water soluble stabilizer on top when doing towels to prevent the stitches from burying in the terry loops. If I use any on the bottom, it will be wss, but I don't find it necessary most of the time. |
