Here is a red corduroy jacket made by Vogue pattern #8203.  It is a good fit after I eliminated the front and back waist darts.  For the trim I used an Ikat jacket that I purchased in a thrift store.  I cut it apart then cut the stripes apart and made the pointed strips.  I put them on with a black satin stitch sewing them together while I sewed them to the jacket.  I used a fabric glue to hold them in place while stitching.  The buttons came from the Ikat jacket also.  I find lots of fabric, buttons and zippers at thrift stores by purchasing "oldies but goodies."  I decided against any embroidery or further embellishments because I like the look without anything else.
