This is a beautiful piece of Tai Silk that I found at the Houston Quilt Show.  The color gradations are amazing in real life.  The pattern is called The Mandarin Jacket by Favorite Things Pattern Designs.  I lined the jacket with organdy to keep it from being stiff.  I used the same organdy to bind the edges.  Of course, as usually happens, I had to get creative with the sleeves since I did not have enough fabric to cut a full sleeve.  I cut it in two pieces and used a decorative stitch to hide the seam. The buttons are glass and pick up every shade in the silk.  I also purchased them at the Houston show.  Now I just have to find something "perfect" to wear with the jacket.
