Pantyhose Unisex Fashion |
---|
One of my closed (male) friends was invited to visit my page. He never wore a pantyhose. You can consider this a viewpoint from a non-pantyhose male.

Thanks for your comment my friend.I thought I heard somebody talking about men wearing pantyhose years ago. May be it's you?? In fact, I can understand your point. Although I have no experience with pantyhose before, I can imagine that since I have tried ballet trousers (pretty much like pantyhose, right?). It is quite comfortable (in cold weather) - though I don't like the look.
But I thing I don't understand: do you really think it is so comfortable to wear to replace cotton socks? Your soles sweat so much that nylon material is not that good as cotton. (The dark colour socks that I wear to work (as formal code) are also cotton-made!)
Yes, I do think so! As I mentioned feeling is quite subjective. Cotton socks, if the head is too tight, make the legs painful. If the head is too loose, the socks collapse every 5 minutes. You also have the same experience, right? I have tried to find some 'suitable' black cotton socks for many years, but still can't find one. Yes, I also know that even many women don't like pantyhose, but at least for me it is more comfortable than the cotton socks. Regarding sweat, I find no problem. Also, pantyhose is excellent in 10 degree temparture. Regarding outlook, I think I look good in pantyhose.
I am not talking about fashion here. Lots of fashion doesn't make a practical sense.
Yes, I always comment for some 'specially designed' fashion, I doubt if anyone DARE wear them in public! But, yet, upper class men in the past also wore tights and skirts, and they looked good! (at least at that time)
I fully support you view of having the right to wear pantyhose. I think it's only a matter of time before the society will receive it. (How long did it take to accept women wearing suits/trousers?) May be a good way to start from the fashion argument is to get some designers make a male model on stage wearing special designed pantyhose. (You know how those so-called fashion experts behave - everything designed by a worldwide first class designer is fashionable.)
I hope this will work. I have contacted many fashion designers but I never received response. I think they are more interested on making money.
Or from a practical point of view get a manufacturer to make comfortable male pantyhose and then promote it through massive advertising campaign - and you know how ads work these days. At least I think this concept of man-wearing-pantyhose is not accepted just because nobody has really spent time and thought about it. I had these ideas before going through your homepage completely - "heroes think alike!"
I tried too. They know that there is a market. You know Legg's? They have done a lot of research. Then they still do nothing.
According to experience it is now much easier to buy L/XL size. Though someone may argue that women are bigger recently, but still it cannot explain the trend of making a lot more L/XL so quickly. So, I think the manufacturers know the trend and just make more L/XL for men. Many packagings also just mention 'for adult' or 'for children' instead of 'for women' or 'for girls'.
They dare not market them openly for men because, many people think, they are afriad of lossing good company image and even loss female's market. Sadly, many people still think that only abnormal or fetish wear "women's" clothing. (In the past upper class men wore skirt/dress/heels/tights/make-up EVERYTHING! I have posted some pictures in the 'present.html' page.)
One question on high-heels: do you know anybody has designed high-heels for men? (just curious, I think I am tall enough)
I don't know, but I can remember in '70s men wore high-heels. Can you recall 'Winners' (a famous HK pop song band of Alan, Bee etc) period??
And I like your version of "Imagine" !
Thank you.
