Mouse's Embroidery

This page is so I can display my work to a wider audience. Hopefully, people will see the stuff on this page and will want to contact me to ask questions, or to swap information. I hope to learn new things as well as imparting what I've learned so far.

I became interested in historical needlework through the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). I am a member of the group in Sydney, Australia.

Split stitch

A recent project of mine, was to sew the devices of some of the Barons and Baronesses of Lochac(Australia), onto napkins in split stitch. During this project, I discovered that the direction of the stitches makes a lot of difference to the effect. I also gained an appreciation of simple and beautiful heraldry.

These pictures are scans of colour photocopies of the napkins. Please be patient, the pictures are large.
