The age old question is what Color is the best ? Well there is no best color. It just depends on your type of play. If you like Speed you probaly like Red, Green, or Black. If you like control you most likely would like Blue, or White. My opinion of the most powerful colors in order are:
1. Blue 2. Red 3. White 4. Black 5. Green
The funny thing is that my favriote color is Green though. The color that you like best is the one you shoud play with. Even if you think that another color is more powerful you should still play with it. You still should experiment with the colors though. Each color has its own way of winning. You just need to pick the one that fits your style of winning.
Blue - Blue has a lot of good enchantments they can stall the game and pacifiy your opponent. Then they also have one of the most powerful spells too. They have Counterspells, creatures that are unblockable, and can put anything on the board back into your hand. They can get very annoying.
Red - Red is almost the best Color it has speed and power. It's the only Color with lots of Direct Damage Spells (DD). It even suposebly will have a card that can deal 8 damage to a creature or player! They also have a lot of cards with First Strike. To add to that they have plenty of Creatures that are uneffected by Summoning Sickness. They Have X spells to. They have preaty much everything.
White - White was very close to being second. Most of my friend make fun of White. In my opinion it is a VERY good Color. Most people say their creature stink, but they have some of the best. For example Mother of Runes Tap: Give target creature protection from any one color. Why does that stink it only costs W and is a 1/1. White has good enchantments also like Blue they can stall the game, while it gives them time to build an offence. They also have lots of creatures with Shadow. Just stick a nice Empyrial Armor on him an your screwed. Over all White is good all round, but I think it needs another color to back it up.
Black - Black and Green were close to each other also. The only reason Black was put ahead was because of its speed. With their Dark Rituals it can put them three turns of play ahead of you. Then from that point each time you lay a creature it gets fried. Finnaly you get some creatures out and things are looking good for you since you took out his best creature. POP it's back in play because of Disturbed Barial. Black can be very powerful when used correctly.
Green - Some people right now probaly think I am insane for sticking Green at the bottom. My opinion of Green is that it just lacks something. When Wizards of the West made Green they left them short of fair. All Green is about is Creatures that is preaty much the only way they win. Sure, They have some good instants, sorcerys, and enchamtments but they don't have enough of the good ones. They also have one other thing that they are missing but I can't figure it out. I don't think Green is bad it just lacks some thing.
Over all I think that when you narrow it down all the colors are Equal. Blue can counter, Red has DD, White has Protection, Black can bring things back from the Graveyard, and Green has big creatures with Trample. Each color had it Pros and Con's and you have to build your deck around each of them. |
