3 Tips For Beginners

1. Get Frustrated is Normal - When you start palying Magic you should lose. You don't understand all the rules and Advanced Strategy. The best thing you can do is get some one who know the rules of Magic to help you play. Have him explain why he is doing what he is doing and why he is doing it in that order. I even get frustrated when I play. I once had a deck that was undefeated in 1 on 1 play, then I stoped playing Magic for a couple of Months. When I started playing again I lost 7 games straight. Try not to get frustrated though it shows that your going to lose and your opponent will give a smile of satisfaction and makes him/her happy he is annoying you.

2. Stick with the Same Deck - If you play with a deck once and lose with it you don't know wether it was the way you played or it just stinks. Most of the time when you switch form playing speed to control you will make mistakes because your used to playing speed. Even if you just switch to a new that uses the same strategy you still will make mistskes. If you keep playing with the same deck you will be able to modify it so it can become immune to diffrent forms of decks and styles of play.

3. When Building your First Deck Keep it one Color - One big problem when building a deck is first of all they shove all their "Good" cards in a pile and call it a Deck. These cards are often several diffrent colors. The first time I built a decks it was 5 colors and almost all the cards were Rare. If you keep it one color then it is easy to manage with mana and limits your ability of shoving all "Good" cards in your deck. I find Green is a good beginner color because it's main power is creatures and most beginners don't realize the power of a 1/1 with flying.
