Yves Saint Laurent launched the Left Bank Look in 1962. An extremely youthful collection inspired by Parisian students. The look consisted of narrow skirts, narrow tops, bold checks, stripes and berets pulled to one side of the head. Brigitte Bardot was the epitome of the Paris Left Bank look, with her mane of blonde curls and pouting mouth.
